Austin Wiley has hurt his same leg he hurt over the summer. He's wearing a leg boot again.

My conspiracy theory....

The injury is a cover for the ineligibility due to the Chuck person stuff.

quote:

The head coach mentioned
-junior center Horace Spencer's physicality

-junior forward Desean Murray's unselfishness and versatility as the things

quote:

Center Austin Wiley, considered Auburn's top NBA prospect, did not participate in the workout as he continues to recover from a "stress reaction" in his left leg.

"I'd say probably two more weeks, is what they're talking about," Pearl said. "He's having really good healing. I think, right now, he feels a lot better. He doesn't have any pain. He's just got to let that thing continue to heal and he should be good to go in a couple of weeks."

Why would the Bucks waste their money like that?

It's only 2 1/2 weeks until our 1st exhibition game and 3 1/2 until the season officially starts.

Auburn, Ala.--Coach Bruce Pearl said that a private scrimmage set for Saturday vs. Georgia Tech should give him a better idea of what his Auburn basketball team needs to work on as it prepares for the 2017-18 season.

“This is about a week earlier than most teams start scrimmaging, but we decided we wanted to do it early because we wanted a little more time to fix what is ailing us because we are going to expose,” said Pearl, who is heading into his fourth season as head coach of the Tigers.

“Today we put in our first zone offensive looks because we scrimmage Georgia Tech on Saturday and they play man and zone,” he said. “We haven’t done any zone at all.

“The problem with leaving the man (offense) is we still have work to do there so I am not pleased with the retention and the growth,” Pearl said. “I am having to continue to go back and reteach and resupport. I need to move forward.

“There are a lot of things we haven’t put in yet,” he said. “They have got to pick up their intensity, they have to pick up their being alert and picking up on things if we are going to be good early.”

Saturday’s scrimmage is a closed one vs. the Yellow Jackets, who reached the finals of the NIT?last season. Neither team is allowed to announce statistics or even mention which side won. Pearl said that neither he nor Georgia Tech’s head coach, Josh Pastner, can comment on who plays well in the scrimmage.

“I?think it should be a fairly even match,” Pearl said. “We will see.”

Wiley's boot comes off tomorrow. Still 2 weeks before he is cleared to fully practice but he will start running on an alterG treadmill.

So it looks like Horace and Bryce traveled to Nashville for SEC Basketball media days.

I wonder if the FBI investigation had any affect on who Bruce decided should represent the program for media days. In other words, I wonder if this means Horace isn't one of the two players.

They are our only 3rd year players but I do agree that this pretty much puts to rest either of them being the 2nd player. They both were suspended last year for smoking the hippie hay so if there were any doubt about their eligibility I don't see them being our player reps at media days.

Yeah, I was going to say its probably because those two are literally our only upperclassmen signed out of HS.

The only rankings that are worth paying attention to are dedicated SEC writers who cover BBall and natl guys like Rothstein who follow everyone closely

Most natl guys / SEC non bball writers view the SEC as a shite conference and don't pay attention to more than splash recruiting + last year results

I really like Blake Lovell. You can tell he puts his time into and he spells out his reasoning behind why he says what he does.
