So is Kentucky not recruiting at all this year or are they making a late run on the remaining 5 stars?

It's early. The ones UK is after typically wait a little later in the process.

How many will we sign in this class?
We'll have 4 scholarship players graduate.

Who are our top remaining targets and what positions are priority?
I was hoping to get one of the two instate 4* PF, Alex Reese from Pelham or Garrison Brooks from Auburn HS. I'd like to get a solid combo guard to compliment Mitchell as well. Maybe Jamal Johnson who is Wiley's teammate at Spain Park, or if possible somebody higher ranked.

No, I was just taking a break. Season is starting soon and I wanted to be here for our historic season where we go 15-0.

My first year we had six, and then the second year we had six counting Danjel (Purifoy), and then this year it’s going to be six. That’s part of our story is that, for the third consecutive year, we’re going to have six or potentially seven new players. " Bruce Pearl

This was from last week so it looks like there is still a possibility we add one more to the 16-17 roster.

They would have to reclassify to be eligible for this season. My best guess is there is still a grad transfer out there.

I should've read closer that you were referring to this upcoming season.

It would be great to see those two (Johnson and Reese) join the class with Wiley and Co.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but Elias Harden, believed to be one of our top targets at SG, committed to Xavier earlier this week.

He announced on Twitter. LINK

Hopefully we're feeling good about another guard prospect higher on our board.

Predict our non conference W/L

quote:

Auburn Basketball’s 2016-17 non-conference schedule
W North Florida
W Georgia State
W Eastern Kentucky
W **Texas Tech (CBS Sports Network)
W **Purdue/Utah State (CBS Sports Network)
W USC-Upstate
W @ UAB
W **Boston College
W Coastal Carolina
W Mercer

L**Oklahoma
L@ UConn
W@ TCU

** should be neutral site games

11-2

Oklahoma loses a ton but they are a well coached school. Texas Tech could be a pretty tough matchup as well but I think we can pull that off along with Purdue/UtahState

We don't beat Purdue or USU. If we go 11-2 in non-conference we're a tournament team man

I'm not sold on Purdue without Hammons. He was the real deal at C and I can't see Haas/Swanigan playing a full 40 minutes of quality defense against a team that stretches the floor

Purdue struggled against smaller athletic teams last year and it should only get worse

UAB is losing their best player. I just don't see them beating us this year when we should clearly be improved at every position

Okay guys take this with a huge grain of salt I suppose, but there are some rumblings that Austin Wiley will be moving out of state to another school (possibly Elev8?) The reason behind this move would be to graduate early and join the team in January, therefore being eligible for the upcoming season.

JHoke made a post a few months ago, responding to a post that read "Can't wait to see Wiley and Mustapha together." His response: "You may not have to wait that long."

Add in that we have heard there may be another player joining the team that hasn't been announced, and there may actually be a microscopic chance of this happening.

EDIT: After a quick search, Bruce did this with Jarnell Stokes at UT in 2011. LINK
"Despite playing less than three full collegiate seasons - he graduated high school early, enrolled in January of 2011 and played in just 17 games as a freshman - the 6-8, 260-pound Stokes leaves Tennessee as one of the most prolific rebounders in school history."

Didn't 24 say that Wiley was a grade risk though?
