Days out before games I get excited just thinking about getting to watch his offense. I start thinking about things that I could potentially see. As kickoff grows closer on gameday, my football boner grows longer. We have been good in the past, but I don't think I have looked forward to games this much before. Anybody else feel the same way?

Basically I am ready for Thursday.

I notice player development... Something we didn't see a lot of under Gene Chizik.

Yup, I'm the same way. You know you're going to see something new everytime the team steps on the field. I love it.

I don't even remember being this excited for games when Cam was playing and I was a student then. I was super pumped for our big games that year, but I even get excited about playing teams like San Jose St.

I was excited about watching Cam do things that blew my mind, but there is something about watching the Offense since Gus took over as HC that gets me going.

I feel very relaxed when we have a 14 point lead...that was rare under Tubs.

In 2010, I was just waiting for our defense to cost us a game, so I was nervous all year. Cam was good enough to prevent that from happening though.

The end result of 2010 was awesome...I was a wreck during many of the games. The most gratifying moment of that year was the SECCG. total domination...

Getting back to the OP...I agree. There is definitely a different feel toward the team since Gus has arrived. You go into every single game feeling you have a great shot at winning.

Yes it is a constant back and forth between rock hard and flaccid.

I like how Gus is so detail-oriented. How he walks through and imagines game situations on the field prior to the games. From all the stories and articles on Gus, he appears to be a perfectionist and serious student of the game. Basically what Saban is on defense, Gus is to offense.

I really do believe people will look back on the Auburn/Bama games years after the two coaches have left their respective schools and see just how much football genius was in one state at the same time.

Blowing 14 point leads and scraping by with a win was the daily regimen for Tubs. The difference with this coach and previous AU coaches is he will keep scoring points until they are beaten into submission. The UT/AU game last year was the greatest example of that. I haven't witnessed a victory by AU in another team's 90,000+ stadium like that in quite some time.

I don't want to be a negatiger but didn't we blow big leads against UGA and FSU last year? I don't think we should just have selective memories here. That being said, that was last year, this is a new year.

Yea. I don't really remember having offenses that could close the door on teams during Tubs era. Some of those loses came because a great defense grew tired after running out on the field every 4 plays.

No, cause Murray didnt score

and FSU

Ok, I feel comfortable with 14 point leads when we are not facing a Heisman trophy winner.

Pretty much agree. In 2004, as dominant as we were, and as easy as every game but one was, you knew Tuberville would just lay down, run basic run plays, play good D, and pretty much put us to sleep in the 2nd half.

Agree on Murray. I think even the UGA folks know he didn't score but won't admit it.

As for Pasadena, it was one of the few times Auburn had a big lead, and I'm not sure they knew what to do. I think we did slow the game down too much. When you've already got your boot on someone's throat, press HARDER...I wanted to see more HUNH in the last half of that game.
