Piece of advice I wish someone had given me. Decide where you WANT to live and find a job there. Do NOT move to a less desirable location to take a job hopeing you will eventually get to your desired location.
I disagree with this. The right opportunity is paramount to where you are living. Getting set in a good job and getting experience in a line that you want to go in allows you to have the flexibility to move where you want to live while having a career. You can limit your career incredibly by not taking your licks and moving where you need to in your early years.

Yep... but then you spend two years right out of college in Longview, TX eating Applebee's everyday and driving home every other weekend.

How are the hookers and blow in Longview, TX? It really is all about location, location, location.

Then so be it. I got to where I am now via Columbus Ohio and Jacksonville Fl. Did I want to live in either of those places? No. Did the experience I got from the jobs there help me be to a place where I can live anywhere I want in a great field? Yes.
If you can find a job in a good place then that is perfect. Too many people are stubborn about living somewhere new and miss prime career opportunities.

Since I'm older (28) and at Auburn, I don't find this to be true at all. I enjoyed working and having a steady flow of money. As long as you don't burden yourself with shite you don't need, money = freedom. I already outgrew the party lifestyle when I got here, so leaving won't be tough at all.

I met one of the top grads in the Supply Chain Management track in the school of business the other day in Auburn. She had taken a job with Ga. Pacific and is moving to Muscogee Okla. to work in a plant there initially.
Hard to smile and say "awesome!"

Yep, but the good news is she will only be there 6 months. Then probably transfer to some other shining spot like Pooler Georgia.

Congrats!
You can stay and replace Brannigan.
That's a win-win for you and Auburn.

She'll definitely be the hottest chick in Muscogee..

I know the girl you're talking about she knows her supply chain and she'll make good money at Georgia Pacific..but I'd take less money to go elsewhere

Me too. Finished my doctorate. Shits about to get real.

Good God some of you are spoiled to hell
I graduated right after 9/11 and had to serve tables at Outback for a f'n year before getting an opportunity in Columbus. Take advantage of the opportunities you get because your career can be sidetracked in a second and it will suck even worse than 6 months in Muscogee.

Congrats, man. I spent 7 years in school down there and loved every minute of it. I do occasionally miss it from time to time, But I'd just as soon keep workin', though, keep a little change in my pocket.
I think I would enjoy retiring down there, but I don't think I could live down there in my late 20's to late 40's. Not enough stuff to do outside of athletic events.
