Wish we could have had an on field role somewhere else lined up if he isn't moving into the AD

wording of the announcement makes it seem like he is moving to an off-field role.
So, Garner to TE's and Rocker to DL?

I assumed that he was getting moved back somewhere in the AD

Maybe that is how we secured Bryant. We are going to have 2/3 of his potential future coaches

That's next level recruiting right there

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn special teams and tight ends coach Scott Fountain will not be an on-the-field coach for the Tigers next season, according to a person familiar with the move.
It’s not yet known if Fountain will serve in an off-the-field role as he did as Auburn’s player personnel director for four seasons (2009-12) or if he has been fired, the source told AuburnUndercover Tuesday. Fountain is actively seeking an on-the-field coaching job in college football, and if he lands a job he will not return to Auburn as an off-the-field staff member, a source said.
Attempts to reach Auburn coach Gus Malzahn have been unsuccessful. A school spokesman did not have comment when reached by Auburn Undercover earlier Tuesday.
Fountain coached tight ends and special teams since 2013 under Malzahn.
He is the second off-season move for Auburn. Offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee left the staff for the same job at UConn after the Allstate Sugar Bowl in January.

Has Garner coached TE's before? Would he be willing to do that move?

He coached TE's at Tennessee I know. Not sure if he has anywhere else.

Hs coached TEs here from 90-96 if I'm reading his AD profile right

I believe he did coach TE's for us as well before UT.

One game that sticks out during that period was the 94 UF game. Andy Fuller was unstoppable that day.

Making room for a coach Chip Lindsey is bringing?

Considering we have the best kicker in the country and decided to scrap the TE completely, I'd say Fountain's coaching will not be tremendously missed.
