So CGM managed to get Wallace into 4 games last year, but you don't think he'll be able to get White into any games this year?
wtf

He can "get into" any game. But its fricking stupid to waste a RS in a QB that will have zero impact on the win/loss column without an injury.

I'm not so sure why you're finding this so hard to understand.

So using that theory, how do you explain JJ's significant playing time last year?

Because we didn't have another competent QB behind Marshall.. You want your #2 guy to have experience. But with Marshall and Johnson already with PT under their belt there's no need to play Sean White this year

JJ played because we didn't have an SEC #2 in Wallace and Marshall got hurt against Ole Miss. We were 2-1 in conference play and needed a healthy QB for any chance at the west title, either JJ or Marshall. So we gave JJ the reins against WCU to get him ready for the rest of the year if he needed it.

I don't understand how anyone can look at JJ playing as anything other than Marshall was hurt and potentially not going to play so we needed to ensure JJ was good to go

I would agree with what you say above IF, as the coach, your attitude was to already have awarded the starting QB job to JJ in 2015 without any competition.

If you DO want a "may the best man win" QB competition going into 2015, it would behoove you to get White some reps in actual full-speed games in order to have the best competition possible.

Yup. People are always excited for the next QB but don't put the cart before the horse.

JJ is still an athletic 6'5" 230lb QB with a good arm and 2 years of experience in the offense. Most teams would be very lucky to have QB depth like Auburn has now. Consider where the team has been in the recent past: Cox, Burns, Todd, Trotter, Moseley, and Frazier.

Marshall, Johnson, and White should be better than all of them. Good times.

It's hard not to be excited about where we are with our QBs and RBs. We should dominate at those positions for the foreseeable future. The concern is defense.

Cox was a good QB. Yeah he would have a let down game once a year (usually against UGA). But the dude won 30 games in 3 years starting. Hard to be that.

Ahhhh, takes me back to the old days prior to the 2013 season where some thought that JJ would be the starter THEN because, gosh darn it, Nick Marshall just throws too many interceptions.

Good times, good times.

Brandon Cox was a hell of a QB. I don't care what people say about him, he won football games which is all that matters
