How serious of a look does Rhett Lashlee get as a HC soon?

Eta: that was a horrible question, edited to get the true point across.

This is his last season at Auburn if we have a season like we expect.

He would have prove himself on his own out from under Malzahn's wing before even Troy or similar teams would give him a shot.

Right now I think he could land a Samford type job and try to work his way up if he didn't want to be an OC away from Gus.

At best MAYBE he could get interest from a Texas Tech type program. He's almost a Kliff Kingsbury clone. Young early 30's pretty boy, former QB, and "OC" for a top offense that's actually led by the HC. Lashlee is just missing the "alum" angle. But maybe a similar program would want to "energize" their program and copycat TTU.

btw, in your original scenario Lashlee would probably just follow Gus to the NFL. He might get a courtesy interview, but not a shred of real consideration. He's realistically a decade from being where Auburn would give him a serious look.

I want Lashlee gone and Craig coaching QB's tbh. I get that Lashlee knows Malzhan's offense but Craig got EJ Manuel and Christian Ponder drafted so he wins. I also haven't been impressed with the WR under Craig.

No he didn't. Jimbo did.

ive always given more credit to Craig for those guys than Jimbo. I think we'll see the real Jimbo this fall without Winston or Craig on the sidelines

Lashlee somehow gets all the credit and no blame as the OC. Where was he during the UGA fiasco last year, or the OT meltdown against Wisconsin?

I am still convinced that if we have two good seasons, Muschamp gets hired as HC and pulls Lashlee or Craig with him to be OC w Gus' system. Muschamp sells the idea of "My problems were with the offense and I found my identity"

Gus gives AU three more years, moves to NFL and takes Rhett with him while Muschamp is promoted to AU's HC and DC takes over as offensive coordinator and T Rob takes over as D coordinator.

Yeah right...

But if this did happen, would people be ok with it?

Not in the least. If we lose Malzahn I want someone proven that can come in and build on his success.

Lashlee gets some credit but I don't hear many people raving about him.

Most if not all of the credit and blame for the offense falls on Gus. No one truly thinks Lashlee is running the offense.

He is not. But Rhett's job is to give Gus 3 play calling options based on down and distance. So he should get some of the blame.

Gus makes great calls but he also goes Les Miles sometimes too (Clemson 2011 ) no saying he didn't just go against what Lashlee thought was prudent.

I don't think anyone thinks Lashlee is some godsend, just that Lashlee can recruit, run the system and play call reasonably well. If Art Briles can go from RBC to HC under Mike Leach, Lashlee can get interest from the Arkansas St, ULM and Miss States of the world
