Yeah remember hearing his name a ton during 05-07. Awesome player and by all accounts a great person. Sad news.

Absolutely terrible news. I actually had a TIA and was diagnosed with WPW. Had no clue, ablation corrected it for me 2 years ago. I've had an implant monitoring me, but it's scheduled to come out in a month. I was told that it does occasionally come back post op. Surprised that he wouldn't have been under an annual monitoring with a cardiologist. Sad day.

Was it Groves who basically won the game against KSU one time?

Just terrible news. My heart goes out to his family and friends. He will always be one of the Auburn greats.

Quentin Groves and Mcclover were both beasts for us during our iron bowl streak. Too bad the latter is just as dead to to me as the former is.
frick you Mcclover

The article I read said they found it at the combine.

While participating in the NFL combine in 2008 he was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson White syndrome. According to the Mayo Clinic, Wolff-Parkinson White is an extra electrical pathway in the heart that can cause a rapid heartbeat. Groves had surgery for it after it was discovered.

I worked at the athletic dept during my college years (02-06) and Quentin would come talk to me every day when he walked in the door at the complex. He was such a nice person. Sad news for sure.

It's kinda unnerving seeing someone your age die of a heart attack. RIP Groves. You were one of the greats!

Probably my favorite Auburn player while I was in high school.

I used to always find a way on madden to sign him even if it was to be a backup

RIP

This news has really upset me. I loved Q because of his heart. He was a great leader on the team and was a great Auburn man. So terrible for his young family. He must have been a positive contributor in the pros because ALL the pro teams he played for reacted and issued condolences. (Buffs, Browns Cardinals, Raiders as far as I know.)

Just S U C K S. I wonder if there will be an autopsy because its weird for a young man with great athletic background do die of a massive coronary.
