I didn't say, they, as players, wouldn't benefit from staying.

I said it doesn't effect me because Auburns trash defense won't change unless there is a positive change in coaching.

Does anyone here dispute that Jake Holland or Neiko Thorpe would have had a noticeable negative effect on the defense this year if they were?

While Dee Ford would have been a welcome pass rush, does anyone think he would have been enough to cover up the sever deficiencies on the rest of the field?

Goes both ways. Replace Bynes with Holland and there is no national championship that year.

Auburn needs to pay the insurance for Duke and Sammie yesterday.

Well, I'm pretty sure it would be a waste of money up and until the point where they say "Yeah, I am staying."

Neither Sammie nor Duke would benefit from returning. Coates is 1st round after the combine. Duke is a 2nd round pick. Why come back?

I really think Duke could be top 15 if he stayed. Sammie needs to work on his hands and route running before he gets 1st rd.

But anyway, I think Sammie is gone so this is a moot argument.

A coach is great, but players experienced playing in this league is just as important. You think starting a bunch of Freshmen/sophomores with little to no experience will be pretty?

Don't even insinuate that I'll have to watch another team of this. I will hunt you down.

Not quite.

Coates has way too many drops and disappears for long stretches of time.

He had five games of 60 yards or less. 4 touchdowns total for the year. Six games with 2 catches or less. 3 games of 100+ yards receiving.

No way anyone takes him in the 1st round.

If these kids go early, I wish them the best. They all would benefit from staying, but if they have the chance to make money now, even a scout team check, that's nothing to scoff at. There are no guarantees from coming back. It's a tough choice for young guys.

Daquille is "up in the air" he was leaning towards returning then he had an excellent iron bowl and now his stock has momentum. He's hearing anywhere from top 25 pick to outside of the top 25 wrs.

So make sure we don't throw him the ball in our bowl game?

I'm not an NFL scout, but I have not seen a dominant LB on the plains this year at least wearing a blue jersey.

Dang I didn't know Sammie was graduating this year. I thought that was our chance to bring him back next year, but not anymore. He gone.

He was a 2011 recruiting class so this would be his "senior year" as far as classes go. He RS his freshman year with an injury

If he can find his way into round 2 or so I support him leaving.

Yea, he is one that will be able to combine himself into a pretty early round. Duke, I think does need to stay. If he can lose a little weight, and work on a few things, his draft stock would soar next year.

Well this update is definitely better. Sammie can go. He does provide another threat on the other side but he hurts us just as much as he helps with his drops.

If Duke stays, we'll be very good on offense from the get go I think. He'll open things up more for guys like Ray and Davis.

We need Cass and Frost to stay. Badly.

Young seems to give us a good push when he's at guard. Running game opened up more with him there.

Young at guard and Miller at tackle seemed to be clicking in the iron bowl

I would predict that there is ZERO chance that Coates is drafted before the fourth round.....

Except there are tons of Stupid GM's in the NFL like the raiders and jets.

Cotes will be in the league three years and bust.

He is a poor route runner, won't dive for a ball, and drops over 50% of the balls thrown to him.

It is sad because he has tons physical talent.

Just not a natural WR and not a good enough work ethic outside the weight room.
