Early signing day is less than month away and we are under halfway to the goal of 5,000 subscribers. A 1 million dollar donation from an anonymous donor is pledged if we reach 5,000.

You can do monthly options listed below or a flexible one time, quarterly, or yearly donation of an unlimited amount via credit card online. You can also pick your sport the money is donated to this way.

Drive to 5,000

Fixed monthly

Flexible donation

OTV’s issue is that unless you’re a die hard, you probably don’t really know about it. But the only way to let people know would be to do a commercial during a game or something like that.

I'm pretty sure they do commercials during games

Well then either I don’t pay attention to them or they get zen’d by YoutubeTV.

OTV's ad during the game is a list of major donors followed by a QR code to photo/scan so you can contribute.

Apparently, nothing flashy or eye-catching if you have not noticed it.

They have increased prices on everything surrounding game day and monetized so much of the experience as well. Why do they need my money for recruiting? They should have plenty at this point. That’s such a frustrating concept to me. I mean I understand it I suppose but it’s the expectation of giving while also being gouged on game day and having advertisements shoved in my face. Just needed somewhere to rant this morning I guess.

ETA - Stid this isn’t directed at you, hope you get as many subscribers as possible.

Can OTV sell gameday experiences like leading the team on the field, etc?

I hear you but the university cannot directly fund NIL.

I’ve been pretty vocal that the OTV sub money is only going to be a supplement to NIL. It will be nice to have extra money as a result of it and it should cover their operational expenses, but I’ve been pretty surprised at the lack of people signing up, especially when one of the big wigs decided to give $1mil if we got to 5k subs.

They do. Can’t remember if that’s for the higher level of giving or if it’s a giveaway.

Agreed and likely why many aren't contributing

This point continues to get lost on these folks.

The self-serving folks are hand over fist giving out cash for bougee tailgate spots in tent city , tuition, parking passes, etc, but those monies do not make it to NIL. These transactions are not donations at all; they are payments, so the university doesn't owe anybody anything.

So, if donations were more self-serving more people would chip in. Tax deductions, tiers of recognition, financial status, etc are things people want.

So I take it we are not going to outbid for Ward.

Yeah, I used to tailgate for free, but they monetized my spot.

I used to park for free too, but they monetized that too.

My tuition when I was a student was 1,800 a quarter out of state. I got instate in 12 months and it dropped below a grand. There also weren't all the fees that nearly equal tuition now. Currently, there's no instate ever for an out of state student and you're looking at north of $50k a year.

Hardly "self-serving," and if you want to call it that, it's because the university created it.

Still think kettles on gamedays and "round up" feature on pay terminals would help.

Are OTV funds going to be used to pay the buyouts the next time we fire a coaching staff, or are they specifically restricted to buy high school children and transfers?

Some of the comments in here amaze me. This is the only way our fanbase can directly contribute to winning yet half of the people in here complain about it.

You pay good money now to have that tailgate spot for your enjoyment. Thats entirely self serving.

You could've been more practical- did juco and a smaller school but you paid up for your degree. Thats self serving.

You served your interests.

Auburn Athletic Dept sells Game Day Experiences, not OTV. Those GDE's go directly to Dept budget. OTV gets nada out of it.

OTV is a non-university entity. So their funds are contributions only; not university funded. They may talk to each other, but their money is separate. If you are paid NIL by a collective, you're not an employee - at least that's what I gather.

So, contribute if you want to help fund NIL opportunities. Buy Game Day experiences from tents to on-field excursions to give to the uni.

The increased prices and gameday experience stuff is from the University, OTV has to be a separate entity from the university.

All of what the funds go to is clearly laid out if you put effort into a search. Buyouts aren't a part of NIL, so why would they be?

From my search, while OTV's primary purpose is to funnel 90% of funding to players, there isn't technically anything that prohibits OTV from donating to the athletic department/TUF fund/whatever, just as any other business or person would. The only prohibition I see is that the University cannot operate the NIL collective.

Auburn University and many of those associated in general have proven time and time again to be poor stewards of resources.
