He is like 6'6. Being 240 at 6'6 is small by football standards. I don't view Jeremy Johnson as a hulkin mass of muscle at the same size

I don't think JJ is 240 like he claims.

That's only 8 lbs less than Newton weighed in at the combine at the same height.

That Ford kid for LSU was small, but he damn sure could rush the QB. If he can do that, it's all good.

Interesting Boom quote to Cass & Frosty from a friend who was at Tuesday's practice

quote:

I don't care how many F'ing tackles you missed last year, but you won't miss near that F'ing many this year.

Quotes of note Day 5. (Sorry I haven't been posting these sooner) LINK
quote:

Pettway on making the transition from RB to HB

“It’s been a great transition. Right now, I’m just learning the plays and working my hardest at it. It wasn’t tough at all. I felt like it was the best way to get on the field and I went for it.”

Pettway on his comfort level at HB

“It feels pretty natural for me. It feels like running back, just blocking more. I’m all right with not getting a lot of carries. Whatever helps the team out. I’ve done a lot of blocking before in highs school and things like that.”

Frost on the defense’s progress

“They have definitely changed the dynamic of how we treat practice, how we go into practice and how we do things. It is working out great. It’s been pretty physical. I feel like we are doing a good job of showing what we have to the new coaches.”

Frost on urgency at practice

“Guys are doing all they can to compete for jobs because every job is open right now. The urgency to know what you’re supposed to do, know your responsibility, is really high.”

Adams on building team chemistry

“The d-line and the defense as a whole, we have to get that team chemistry. We’ve got to be together a lot so we can always know we have each other’s backs.”

Adams on the impact of new DC Will Muschamp

“I think it’s better because of different coaching styles. Coach (Ellis) Johnson was pretty laid back. Muschamp is intense. He focuses on everybody. I think that will change the defense, just him alone being here.”

Adams on DT Devaroe Lawrence[/b][/b]

“I think he can really help this team. He has all the talent in the world. He just has to keep pushing through it.”

Malzahn on more physical practices

“We are doing the halfline, doing the inside, doing team against the defense. We’re getting after it. We are going old school trying to get our edge back. I think they’ve gotten better each practice. Overall, I feel good about where we are.”

Malzahn on redshirt freshman QB Sean White

“He can really throw the football. He is very accurate. He has a strong arm. He understands trajectory and where to put the football. For the most part, he’s done a good job executing the offense. He did get some reps in the fall being the No. 3 guy. It’s really just a matter of getting quality reps.”

Malzahn on new defensive coaching staff

“With Will as the leader, they work extremely close together. They have very good energy. They are all on the same page They are flat getting after it. The standard is high over there.”

Davis on White’s future as a QB

“I knew him before we came. I played two years against him in high school. He’s a great guy. He’s a winner. He’s a team guy. He wants to be great on and off the field.”

Davis on WR/QB Jason Smith

“That guy is a great athlete. We work together on punt returns. We spend time after practice trying to polish him up at receiver, because I feel like he has what it takes to really help this team.”

Malzahn on DE Carl Lawson’s knowledge of the game

“He has a football mind. Football is very important to him. He sees things. He is a special player.”

I see Gus's "no cursing" policy was revised to accomodate the hiring of Boom.

This "No Cursing" Policy has never really been a thing. From practice videos to lip reading Gus during UGA game, this is an absolute joke.

Gus for the most part is clean. Typically never curses just saying this persona is absurd

Yea, I would bet that it is more of a "no cursing while in the athletic complex"

I play softball with a guy that played for him at Springdale. He said he'd always tell guys...."That's chicken crud!"

Still does. I'm just saying that "No cursing" rule isn't for the whole staff and someone needs to make a gif of Gus during the Georgia fake punt saying

"What the f*** was that?"

The rest of that sentence went:

"cause your arse (Frost) will be sitting on the bench while Williams plays."

Fellas, why does this thread suck so much this year? Normally I am constantly fapping to the spring practice thread, but so far this year I have been severely dissappointed. Step it the fck up guys sheesh

Also, hey. It's been a while

Wouldn't you rather be disappointed now and we have a great season? Usually when we are happy in the Spring then the team does not do as well as we want.

Better than last year's thread, hearing about all these big donors going to practice and spouting off about how "this is the fastest, most physical Auburn team I've seen in years" and declarations that we had all but won the SEC.
