Will be interesting to see Trovon playing CB against an offense that he doesn't know.
Obviously he has played well over the spring/summer, but it doesn't hurt that he can probably get a good idea of what route receivers might be running since he knows our offense so well.

It's nice to see another pessimistic a-hole

That's not being pessimistic, just common sense.

Good point and one I had not considered.

I use to play with a guy who did the same thing back in high school. switched to DB his SR year and was a practice warrior because he had a pretty good idea what plays the offense was going to run. He struggled big time in the games.
Not saying Trovon will struggle, but all we have seen of him is him defending the offense he knows very well in the A-day game.
Obviously there is no telling how he does in game prep during practice.

Just a hunch, but considering it didn't appear Reed ever grasped running the routes himself, it's doubtful he's out there anticipating them. Luckily, at db, you can react freely a lot of the time so maybe he will be more comfortable there.

To be fair, his problem wasn't that he couldn't run the routes
Posted on 8/22/14 at 4:18 pm to AUbagman
Im ticked we waited four years before we put him in his natural position. By year two, it was obvious he couldnt catch worth a flip

What was his problem then? He was rarely open, so unless he is slow (not the case), his route running was lacking. He had drops, but he was rarely thrown to to begin with.
Regardless he should have always been at CB.

Catching the ball was his problem. He was open enough when he actually got to do routes. He just was delegated to blocking a lot because he was good at it.

But somehow I doubt that the offense was telling Reed the routes that were called?

No, but he does make a valid point just the same. He didn't say Reed wasn't good. He just wants to see if the praise is warranted against other competition.

No, but he knows every formation, audible, sign. He knows the principles of te offense. He may not know the exact play, but he can get a good idea.
We study tape to learn tendencies and keys and what not. He knows all of them.

This is true of every college defense in America. It is easy to defend an offense you practice against all spring and all summer.
