I sat through the whole damn thing. It's the catholic in me, felt like I was doing penance.

How long does it take to train our eagles before they can go live? Both Spirit and Nova are getting pretty old.

Not sure. I'm not really sure how old Nova and Spirit are either. I know Tiger was late 20s or early 30s when she died. At the time that said that was above the normal life span, but I don't know by how much.

The article says Spirit was found in 1995 and Nova was hatched in '99, so 22 and 17 years old. I don't want Spirit to croak out mid flight to add to his already unorthodox pre-game flights.

I am going to share something with you folks.

I was at the last flight for Tiger before the Georgia game. When she was flying and everyone was yelling' War Eagle' I was unable to participate because I was in tears. I tried to yell but couldn't do it. i was overcome with Tiger doing her best for the last time.

Sounds about right. I'm used to awful football, but that was a special level. It didn't help that the team I'd left behind (kinda) was finally not shite.

My girlfriend is a vet student and her friends work around Nova, said unfortunately Nova is approaching the end of life and that Nova would likely drop from the sky if it tried to fly for any prolonged period.

That wouldn't be good to see.

Although I thought that had happened to Tiger one year against Vandy. She flew a normal flight, but instead of going to the bait at midfield, she just coast down to the ground in the NW corner, over by section 46.
