This is pretty much coming directly from one of the lead corporate lawyers who signs these deals btw

Doesn't matter we will never ever have Nike as long as Bama has them. Has little to do with Bama v Auburn and everything to do with leverage and bargaining power with Nike/UA/Addidas etc. In a state like Alabama that does not have a significant market, you do not need more than one team. Nike has the dominant team in terms of marketing (alabama) and so they have no incentive to give us a good deal because they already have a ton of nationally relevant programs and a team that plays in our market

Under Armour is still trying to build their program base and Auburn is the biggest seller they have as far as schools (I thinkwe hover 10-12 in a given year). We get an amazing deal every year fro m Underarmour because we are their biggest profile school and we are their entrance into the Alabama/Atlanta market.

Another big thing that hinder our deal, our colors. Orange is a shitty arse secondary color. Schools like Georgia have it made with red and black. I don't know much about this and how it makes a difference. Also, supposedly our exact blue pigment isn't the standard navy also I don't think .

I have read this before, maybe from you on this board.

I like the Under Armour gear that I own. Their Heat Gear is badass outdoors during the summer.

I'm sure it was. I am trying to remember the conversation I had with the guy but we were getting drinks at Mamma Gs. Memory is a bit fuzzy I distincly remember the issue about colors being brought up since I was like wtf do colors have to do with a contract?

I guess a huge part of it though is that people will buy red or black shirts just because they are UGA fans while most people don't go out and buy orange shirts/shorts.

Also, I just compared our navy underarmour color to my generic navy pants and the generic navy for UA is a lighter blue. That explains that

I love underamour. Our lawyers think it is possible that all the anti UA hate people put out about basketball/football is generated by Nike as a market strategy to try and frame opinion about their competitors. They say the coaches have no problems with UA so they just aren't sure where it is coming from

Hey now, Orange is a great color. Who likes red anyways?
