Can someone here give me a very brief explanation on how to use Instagram? I have a Facebook account for my business and use it but Facebook sucks for advertising now. I have heard Instagram is better
I set up a user account but have no real idea how to get pictures on there or how to navigate it.

Hit the camera at the bottom (blue). Then you choose to either take a picture or select from your phones library. Then post whatever caption you want under it.

I kinda got the image upload on my phone by downloading the app but how do I navigate it? Find followers or follow people?
I have 12 followers now. How do I see who they are?

you need instagram and twitter and link the two. follow lots of similar people/entities in target groups. make sure you tag them and makes lots of comments/pictures. like at least one a day

I got twitter too. Don't use it much but plan on doing more this year.
The phone app is pretty helpful. I guess I need some kind of app/interface on my Mac as well.
I will work on it this weekend. Thanks

LINK I think this video would do a better job showing how to use it than someone trying to explain with text.

you need to, it only helps your reach. work the two apps together. but again the key is lots of content and tagging others

You can gain followers by using hashtags. If I wanted Auburn fans to see my post I'd use #Auburn #WarEagle #GoTigers and anyone who searches one of those hashtags will see my photo and choose to follow or like the image.
Its all subjective to what you put in your hashtags or where your image is geotagged (GPS indicator of where you took the photo).

I will catch a monster this weekend on your bait and hashtag your username so everyone will see it.

I just fricking hate when people use hastags for normal conversations or thoughts in their head. #stopusingitforfullsentences. God it sucks and people that do it suck on Facebook. Its one thing to do it as a joke but some people are dead serious.

Facebook is the most pointless place to use a hashtag

Bottom of the app, click on the silloette. That pulls up your profile. Click on following or followers to see who is following you and vice versa. Can also click on the heart at the bottom next to it to see who has liked your posts and who has started following you.

Yeah Instagram is geared towards the use of the app vs the desktop. All of the key features are in the app

When I have questions about virtually anything I always check YouTube. From the latest features in Photoshop, to hacking my espresso machine, I can usually find information on YouTube. Won't hurt to check.
