I don't know why people can't believe he would leave. He said during his freakin' introductory press conference that he would prefer to be a HC again. I think if a decent program is willing to offer him this season, he takes the job.

I do agree that he wont make a lateral move, unless it's at a top 10 program willing to up his salary (somewhere like USCw for instance).

I guess we'll see, but I would not be surprised if he is gone after the season.

I don't doubt he would leave for a HC gig. I just don't see a respectable team taking him given his failure at UF and the lack of improvement here. The success Mac is having at UF definitely isn't helping either.

I don't think he gets a HC gig but I could see a lateral move to somewhere like DC at USCw. If he brings TRob, they'd be great recruiting out of CA & FL and inherit a very talented defense. Would be an easy stepping stone to a new HC job

No one said he wouldn't leave. Your dumbass said the below statement to which people disagreed. Then you got offended and are now back tracking.

Any coach with HC aspirations would and should take a good HC job should it come open. No coach who is the highest paid coach at his job makes lateral moves.

I would bet Muschamp leaves after this season even if it is just to be a DC somewhere else.

I technically didn't say that, some other guy did. I just agreed.

If this season had been successful I wouldn't expect him to go anywhere. I think he would stay until offered a good HC job a couple years down the road. But considering how big a dumpster fire AU football is right now, I am not sure he wants to stay. I hope I am wrong, though. I don't think he takes another DC job unless it's at a top program, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him take a Memphis or Maryland type of HC job.

All I know is there are already several HC jobs that will be filled. I don't think Muschamp will be considered for any of them except maybe UCF. However, there are still a lot of dominoes to fall before the season is over. With no buyout to be paid he might get a shot just due to financial situation of the school hiring a new coach. If he were in it for the "long haul" why have a contract you can walk away from with no penalty?

There's no doubt he wants a HC job. No one is doubting that.

Dont act like that's what you said though

No he could take another DC job. With all the HC jobs available there maybe a big school that has a DC go to a HC job.

I think he's kind of in a position that VanGorder was in 2012. Great coach, but was brought in under the assumption that he'd be able to compete right away. We just don't have the talent and our players on defense are wimps. Similar to 2012 also, he's working for a head coach who is a little in over his head.
