I don't think he failed miserably. I think he struck out with quarterbacks. I think his schtick got old and he lost the team there at the end. He did get them into the Sugar Bowl, and I think McElwain had an easy season thanks to all the positive things Will established there.

Our defense was noticeably better than last year. It definitely showed signs of improving throughout the season, something I haven't seen in Auburn since 2010. We had some bad moments especially early on, but we haven't given up this few TDs to SEC opponents since 2007. All signs point to the defense being even better next season.

If Will can cool his hot head and give his OC some more freedom - freedom being something he may have learned from Gus - I think he'll be successful.

I watched Will spear a guy in the back of the end zone in high school. Eight yards deep in the back of the end zone after the guy had already set the ball down. Will has always had an inability to control his temper. I suspect it will cost him at USCe eventually.
