From the stands, I did not see anyone giving less than full speed effort except Duke Williams.

The defense looked solid except first drive and the bust by Ford. The offense moved the ball well except red zone woes.

I think we can get to 6-6 with some lucky breaks if Gus will quit calling so many reverses.

It is what it is.

At this point in 2009, we were 4-0 going to Tennessee. Chris Todd had led us to over almost 40ppg against La Tech, MSU, Ball St and WVU.

I'm not sure this team will score 40 in any game.

Oh hell no. If we do it's this weekend or Idaho.

The 2008 team kept it close in every game except the Iron Bowl when Tommy had pretty much all been sent packing. This team will struggle to keep up with the likes of Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss and the defense is no where as good as 2008 and we have more talent at every position now. The difference? Coaching.

That was Matthews, not Ford on that long TD pass.

The '08 defense was vastly overrated.

We benefitted from playing some absolutely horrendous offensive teams that season. Remember how bad AU's offense was in '08? We were ranked #104 (out of 120 FBS teams) in total offense.

Three of our opponents - MSU, UTee and Vandy - were actually worse, ranking #114, #116, and #118 respectively. Throw in a bad FCS team in UT-Martin and that's a third of the schedule who had even more anemic offenses than the one who fired their OC in the middle of the year. And only 3 of the 12 teams we faced were ranked in the top 3rd of FBS in total offense (#20 USM, #22 UGa and #29 Ole Nutt).

We haven't had a decent defense since '06, and even that one fell apart a couple of times during the year.

Agree because this is nothing like 2012. I do not see the off field problems or separate coaching camps, Team Trooper and Coach Chiz. I don't see a defensive head coach meddling in the offense.

I see a team that is playing a lot of young players. This senior class is on Trooper/Chiz and it sucks. Name the game changer or leader? I see a junior class (primarily Trooper/Chiz) that was not deep and had to be put together after the 3-9 season that was below par. Besides Monty there is not a great player. Don't bore me with recruiting rankings. They are about as accurate as preseason rankings.

The defense has gotten lucky and the offense is a uncoordinated clunk-fest.

He needs to pick up some fricking yards to go along with these TDs. He hasn't scored enough fantasy points for a guy with 3 TDs

This season is 2015. Bizarre playcalling, anemic offense and porous defense with flashes of brilliance by young talented players. Trying to shoehorn this season into another one to prognosticate the future is a fool's errand. This is Auburn, nothing will ever make sense.
