Went outside for 97% coverage today and was pretty disappointed. If there wasn't hype surrounding it and I was walking outside, I don't think I would've even noticed there was an eclipse.

It was pretty much like a cloud went in front of the sun. Got a little cooler and slightly darker but not really noticeable

It was only 81% here but I still thought it was pretty cool. Doesn't happen often and we got to see it.

It was funny, people were walking all up and down the beach with no clue. A few of us had glasses and were checking it out. LOL.

Last 3% makes a big difference, because most of it happens in just a couple minutes. .... For instance you get a 360 degree pre-dawn-type glow down low on the horizon and that ring of fire, but it's just in that 5 minutes (or so) right when it's almost completely covered.

And yes, people can not drive.... Waze app is a wonderful thing, spent the whole day rerouting standtill and wrecks from Hayden to Lebanon (and back again).

We drove up to Athens Tennessee from Atlanta today to see the full eclipse. it was awesome. Those signs were around all the way from ATL. Traffic was fine on the way north, but on the way south it was bumper to bumper for about 50 miles from Athens down to Chattanooga.

I worked today. Finished a board meeting near the ATL airport just before noon. Headed towards home north of Charlotte. Usually around a 4 hour drive. Got home around 830pm. Screw 85 North and eclipse watchers.

The corona during a total eclipse is by far the coolest part. It was really nice to be able to just walk outside and watch it happen.

Cool. Its fun reading all the craziness going on back home for the eclipse. Its amazing that a small thing, if you want to call it that, can get people so crazy now. I blame it all on social media and us being so connected. Being able to communicate with each other so well may not be a good thing for us.

After a 3:40am wake up call, we are sitting in the airport in the DR bound for Mexico. Leg #2 for this trip. DR was fantastic. Every part of it was amazing this week. Hopefully, Maroma Beach will follow suit.

By the way, just noticed your sig quote.
