Pretty soon every coach on the staff will be a former Auburn player.

DC left, so I wish we'd replace him with whoever the best candidate is we could hire. I hope that isn't Kodi. He's trending up right now as a coach, but our WR's have been underperforming lately, so I believe we need to hire someone we know can coach.

That said, any potential WR coach should heed warnings and stay away from our program for the time being.

Wouldn't say. Who's left?. Augirl said Horton is trying to leave and so is Rhett. I guess we will see.

They know that they are out of a job after this season anyway, so they are jumping ship when the opportunity arises.

"Arizona St. RBs coach Kodi Burns has left to join staff of Auburn coach Gus Malzahn per source."

Thinking positively, I think our recruits will be excited to have KB as WR coach. So DC didn't screw them over too bad.

LMAO. I may troll. But I'm not going to lie to you. You didn't have to show me a tweet that I already saw. I thought you were questioning Evans as a legitimate source.

Hiring Burns would be the most Malzahn thing ever so of course its going to happen

Weren't people just complaining only about a month ago about how Gus doesn't have a "coaching tree" to access?

Now, if/when he accesses his "coaching tree", then frick Gus?

It was that Gus doesn't have a large network in the coaching community. Hiring people from your direct coaching tree can be argued to support that theory. People with strong networks can get high profile coaches by relationship/word of mouth

Compare KirbySmart or Muschamp with Gus

Smart/Champ: CFB lifers who have 20+ years as assistants at many different major programs and left on good notes with most coaches

Gus: 7ish years of being a CFB assistant. Left on bad terms with coaching staffs of 4/7 years (arky/aubie)

Not surprised by the move. Gus is one of the most paranoid men in all of CFB. He is putting together a staff of guys that he trusts

Losing Craig sucks because he is a great recruiter and I think is a good QB coach when allowed to do it. I think there's a very good chance knowing the AU AD that Craig ends up as a HC at AU down the road. No idea if that will be a good thing or not but that's just how we operate.

As for melting, I get being upset but for me none of it matters till this fall. We are 100% on the Gus Bus whether we like it or not. I have yet to see how Gus responds when backed into a corner. He strikes me as a guy that could come out guns blazing and we see a wild offense again that puts up points or he could become so paranoid he starts seeing ghosts in his shadows and we fail miserably on offense

Nothing to do but wait till then and pray like heck that he is a mad scientist and not a paranoid crazy person

The melt on 247 is off the charts because the Mod put on there that DC was not allowed to coach the receivers and that nothing would change if this continues. This explains a lot because no one looked like they were coaching them. It has to bad for DC to leave with son only having one more year of high school. His wife put a tear jerker on Facebook for the AU family. Everyone is upset after reading it.
