So let me get this straight. We either succombe to Dye and hire Kirby f'n Smart, sell our soul to hire Petrino or we keep current problems and hire Malzahn. Am I the only one who feels like I'm getting bent over 3 ways on Sunday?

I just think there was way too much smoke about him being offered. Just didn't get the same feeling from the other rumors that didn't hold water.

Like I said, I don't know anything. Just my gut feeling.

Not for me, but I'll take a shot-

based on what would be better than a 22 NC for bama? Getting that 22nd NC and your DC turning down a big $ with Auburn. Hilarity will ensue.

Everyone just think about the worst possible scenario and it'll come true.

Malzahn to Auburn.

it is odd that through this whole thing tate, or anyone else really, hasn't sung the praises of Gus like they are now.

Seems like first stage to blowing smoke up my arse that this is good for auburn.

Football Scoop is reporting that sources say AU is working out a deal with Smart currently.

Once a authority figure sets a standard of expectations he can not raise the expectations. Meaning, whether or not it was Gus's fault the team was undiciplined and went soft it will be impossible for Gus to change the culture at Auburn.

Gus may be able to go somewhere else and be the toughest SOB in the nation, but he will not be able to change the culture at Auburn.

Kirby on the other hand as someone new has a chance to establish a different culture at Auburn.

So if these are my choices then give me Kirby.

I like Gus and I think he can find success at Arkansaw or several other schools, but not Auburn. Not until all the current players graduate.

Maybe malzahn was mentioned to lower our expectations and actually WANT smart

Never thought I'd say I want Kirby smart until the possibility of malzahn taking over became a real possibility

The dude that has 200 more following than followers? The guy who probably has no information on anything?

I'll believe it when I see it from a more reliable source. Kirby would turn down 3.2 mil a year to be a HC in the SEC to remain a lowly coordinator under Saban? I don't think so.
