I am late to the party because I wanted full melt before I read anything. So here is my take:
Jovon for whatever reason needed to go from the team. I am glad it is done and over now so the game plans and fall practice are about the current players. If he was a cancer then good for Gus getting it out.
I am a little concerned about the RB situation, and I really wanted to see JR go big this year. I believe he could have been in NY this year.
We have talent with the HB beast, KJ, and The 4* frshmen Miller and Martin. Don't forget that JF3 is a run threat that could show up in some weird 2 QB formations, move to RB full time, or be there in wildcat behind JJ or SW.
There is a great core of players on this team on the DL and OL. No one player will kill this season, but the lack of a great spark player could keep us out of the SECCG. Gus has his work cut out for him, and this will be his chance to prove he can coach.
It is still GREAT TO BE AN AUBURN TIGER!

Bowden was scum and got better than he deserved.
Indeed.
For those that aren't old enough, if you think its shocking to have had 2 years in a row of good players with bad attitudes making trouble for the team, you would have been shaken to your bones by the Tot years.

War eagle ya'll!
I read through the 9 pages and was surprised it took until page 7 or so for someone to make the logical jump. Sean White is now the focus of our offense. And I commend CGM, as much as it sucks, for making the hard decision to say GTFO. My fan day autographed helmet from 2012 remains an enigma. Avery Young remains awesome. It completely blew his mind that the four of us would return from Japan to Auburn for six months for football season and school for the kids. We came home. Jovon - find a new home and good luck.
I believe that Sean (I am an undersized 5'9" slow 46 YO white boy FTR) is a gamer. He should be healthy. If our line can protect JUST a bit, I believe that he is capable of making good decisions and is a team leader. He has done it at levels up to now and competed with the best of peers, and excelled. He definitely deserves the chance, and support, if that is what CGM feels is best for our team. TEAM MFing team.
Our hopes shift to our defense for the moment. Tons of talent and potential. Game changers at multiple positions. Our D should be a strength that few of us remember. Deep. CGS is paid to make the tough decisions, and he just made a very tough one. Let's kick off and see how the team plays. It is a team game, and anyone not on-board needs to GTFO. Pivotal year for CGM, but he could shirley use our support. Let's play the games, see what happens and root for AU regardless in the meantime. Anyone who is not fcking pumped that it is almost football season, regardless of the normal offseason sht, might benefit from a good rethink of all things.
I am super pumped. I can't fcking wait. Let's go D. I am cheering for you Sean. Receivers and Kodi - step up. Time for everyone to step up. Gus - call some good plays. It is a fcking team game. Go team. I can't wait and frick Clemson, to start. No whining necessary - let's get it on, play the games, root for all things AU and see what happens. I remain cautiously optimistic (=the illogical rhythmical, cyclical timing of AU football).
PS - As usual, Vandy needs all the help they can get, so go 'Dores (bless my dad, Vandy CO '64, Masters. Let's go Peay as well).

JUCO coach backs Gus
Sounds like there were 2 major "incidents" that resulted in him getting the boot. It sucks but does sound like Gus made the right call

Gus made the right call for him and his team. It was tough I am sure since we know JR was going to go ballistic this year.

New details are emerging regarding the dismissal of former Auburn RB Jovon Robinson.
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Brett McMurphy reported that Robinson was dismissed for repeatedly missing classes and meetings. Robinson denied the report to AL.com, but did not state why he was kicked off the team.
Now, Brett Williams of Georgia Military College, Robinson’s former coach, is shedding light on why Robinson is no longer a Tiger. He told The Ledger-Enquirer’s Michael Niziolek that an incident between Robinson and fellow teammates made the staff “unhappy” in June.
“It put him in a tenuous position early in the summer,” said Williams, who did not get into the details of the incident.
The June incident did not lead to an outright dismissal, but Robinson was given certain things he needed to do in the offseason.
“He had some things he had to do to get back in the good graces of the team’s leaders and coaches,” Williams said.
Another incident, in July, is what Williams considers the final straw. The July incident demonstrated the staff that Robinson had not met the standards set to work his way back into good graces.
“I do know he was a distraction,” Williams said. “I can’t speak to the level of distraction he was perceived to be by the coaches, but a head coach doesn’t remove someone, especially a difference-maker, lightly.”

So the dude's former coach is basically saying JR deserved to go?
In reading some more from other sources, it sounds like there was already planning in place for this, and that it's not something that really upsets the planning to the level that JJ being useless in live action proved to do.

Apparently Gus learned his lesson last year by letting Duke stay around too long so he nipped it in the bud this year.

In Jan. of '93 Misk showed up about 2 minutes late to the first team meeting of Coach Stroud (Strength Coach) under the new Bowden regime. Stroud blew a gasket and laid into him about about respect, discipline, etc...basically threw him out and made an example of him in a classic first day, start tough routine. As Misk walked out Stroud under his breath said, (paraphrasing) "Who the f*&$ dresses like that!" Misk was one of a kind.

Sometimes you just step up and make an example. Maybe it comes back to bite you, maybe it works out for the best and everybody else steps up. Either way Gus is all in and owning this team this year.
