You don't have to play in the NFL, D I, II, or III to know the game of football. Jeff has not been a very good football player at Auburn.

We all recognize that he is a superior athlete than just about everyone on this board. Doesn't mean we can't be disappointed that he didn't live up to his top 50 status in the country.

Ergo he deserves ridicule?

OK.

Its not the disappointment that's wrong.

Its the way some of you choose to express it.

Being bigger and stronger doesn't make one a better athlete. In 5 years at Auburn I dont remember one athletic play out of Whitaker.

Preach brother.

Some bs to needlessly call out one of our players who, while he may not have lived up to his playing hype, has by all accounts been a great teammate and student during his time at AU.

Probably the same tools who still do the "step, step, you suck" chant.

I love how much this annoys you. It's really irrational to be bothered by it, unless you hate all negative chants from fans in general. Then you're just a killjoy.

It isn't that clever, not a really classy chant . If it was unique or it would be acceptable

Why is that BS? It's not like he didn't live up to the hype because of injury or something. He just sucked. Any other profession or anything else in life if you suck at what you do then you will be ridiculed and deserve to be called out. No wonder half these players today look like they don't care, no matter how bad they play they're still going to get a pat on the back and hear "good game"

Pussification of America. The participation trophy society we live in today is pathetic.

So should we not chant "Airball" at guys who miss everything? It's not classy to point out his mistake, and it's definitely not unique. Should we not say "tiger bait/meat" (whatever it is the band says) when announcing the other teams starting line up? Should football student section stop saying "sucks" after every opposition player is announced to start game? Should we never chant "bullshite" after a bad call?

None of these are classy or unique. The fun of being in a student section is that you the line of what is socially acceptable gets shifted. We say things that aren't nice. Some things are more unique (does Reverse Rammer Jammer count as original? certainly not classy). Others are things that every student section does.

Only one I think is bad is the step step . Especially when they yell you suck as our guy is walking up to the free throw line getting the ball .

Pretty much anything with the word "sucks" is just annoying . sounds stupid to me .

Don't have a problem screwinf with opponents heads just that chant ha

It just screams loser to sit on a message board and bang on a good kid who isn't as good at football as they wanted them to be.

If he was a tPOS or acted like he didn't care or caused problems in the locker room or talked crap about how good he was going to be or any number of other things maybe but JW has never been accused of any of those things.

You're pretty young though right? If so it's somewhat excusable, one day you'll see the light.

Actually its not the Pussification of America.

Its more the "Its All About Me Me Me Me Me" America that since Jeff Whitaker doesn't give you the instant gratification you demand of him, you think its perfectly OK to disrespect and ridicule him. You seem to be a perfect representative of that America.
