Buie says South Carolina, Tennessee and South Florida have been showing him the most interest as of late. He has visited Columbia and Knoxville and hopes to make it to UCLA this fall, but doesn't have any upcoming visits planned outside of the Auburn trip.

It seems some quality schools are interested in him. I would hate to miss out on a kid, who has a great senior season, just because we couldn't take a few minutes to call him each week and burned that bridge. It is a little early to be turning our back on a kid that is obviously interested in Auburn, IMO.

He has O-MAC role written all over him.

I like that film. He's shiftier than O-Mac, he has better moves for sure. Fast as hell, just undersized. He's like a better version of what Ole Miss has had at RB lately. I really want him to have a place at Auburn, but his size scares the hell out of me. He might be listed as 5'8" but he doesn't even look that to me on film

I agree. I like the fact that he doesn't trip on a blade of grass every time he cuts.

He doesn't look very tall. That's for sure. One site had him listed at 175 lbs. and the other at 180 lbs.. Kind of slight but if he could put on 10 lbs. his senior year....a 185 lb. - 190 lb. true freshman isn't that bad.

The kid is already committed. How hard is it to call him once a week to check and see how he is doing?

That snipplit of an article has nothing to do with calling him once a week, it makes it sound like he got a little butthurt because Garner went to his school in crunch time trying to recruit Holland and Norton but didn't take time to sit down with him.

I have no issues with a 5'8 running back, there are a few good ones out there that are short. Honestly, 5'8 and 175 isn't small compared to other kids, 6' and 200 pounds would be roughly the same size thickness-wise. If he got to 5'8 and around 190, that is a decent size to play at.

Don't you stick up for Garner by pretending that he is purposefully ignoring the kid. Garner clearly is just not a good recruiter and has given up. He needs to go

You say this jokingly but aren't there some who actually feel this way about Garner?

I've been out of the loop for the past couple of months but it seems there was angst about Garner being retained as D-line coach? Some felt he didn't deliver on the film and were underwhelmed by his recruiting efforts

We closed strong with recruiting this year and have Muschamp now so I'm sure some of the hand wringing has subsided for now but if d-line doesn't improve this season we're going to be in a awkward position with Garner IMO

His recruiting results have left a lot to be desired since coming back to Auburn. Not to mention Muschamp may have some resentment about him being retained

He definitely was dealt a shifty hand with the Lawson injury and lack of DEs.

He didn't make the best of it with improved DT play though

I don't want any kid to get a raw deal from AU. That said, it doesn't apply in this case. Kid committed w/o telling anyone beforehand. He is likely not 5'-08" - 175, but closer to 5'-06" - 155. Also was hurt majority of last season IIRC.

ETA: Not really a reply to GC.

That's not JJ. That's Auburn video coordinator for football. If anything you have to blame Malzahn for this one

Nope, you won't deter me I shall blame JJ.

All, kidding aside are any of you familiar with this guy? Is it a battle worth fighting if it's game tape anyone can access and condense to one site? I mean they're threatening him with legal action.
