Offense was near flawless... and had to be. Our inability to stop 3rd/4th downs was pitiful.

And then we do force a punt and bray fumbles it...
So glad I missed this game live.

Was coming to post about this game. Ellis is a terrible DC. He has lived off his one good year in 2010, and got paid.

Listened to that game on the radio and knew we were living a lie.
Then got blasted on this forum for having the audacity to suggest we might lose to TAMU the following Saturday.

It is actually amazing what Gus has done the past two years with a DB at QB, and Ellis as the DC.

I was there and it was horrible to watch.

Well, I mean we could lose any game against a decent power five opponent, provided you play like shite.
we probably beat A&M 7 or 8 out of 10 times... it literally took a handful of fluke shite for us to lose, including a 10 point swing blocked FG.
A&M the week before looked like garbage against monroe... there was no reason to think, even with our obvious flaws, that we shouldn't have handled the aggies in auburn... But shite happens.

Calm down nancy. Plenty were saying how suspect we looked after the USC game. Don't act like you were the lone negabarner - there's always at least a hanful

I doubt you got "blasted" on here for saying that. A decent amount of posters were saying the same.

Whats done is done. I took no pleasure in having my worst fears confirmed. I'm just glad Gustav took positive action to address our biggest problem area.

Can you link it? I wanna see what I said

If not for three lost fumbles and a blocked FG returned for a TD, it likely would've been a comfortable win (similar to arkansas)... not a blow out, but a 14 to 24 point win.
A&M was dogshit the weeks prior... Had lost 59-0 to bama, barely escaped LAMO at home, and was starting a true frosh QB. It took our worst performance in 16 months of Gus's tenure to lose (by 3 points).

here ya go
ETA: Rig, your take was pretty reasonable - but your worst case scenario still had us winning by 10.
In retrospect, I'm embarrassed by my "blowout definition" debate...but in my defense, it was in response to an equally ridiculous "half our SEC wins are blowouts, so this game will be one too" argument.
I bought into our hype even after losing big to MSU. Barely escaping on the road against what turned out to be a terribly overrated Ole Miss team, followed by the nail-biting win at home against a pathetically subpar SCarolina squad made me seriously reconsider whether we were a good team after all, which is what prompted my first post in the Aggie thread.

I remember that thread...
Oh well... again, 8 out of 10 times we win that game, given where the two teams were heading into it... but that's football.

Well I don't look that far off from my prediction. Said they could hang around and make it interesting..which they did

If this game isn't over by the half, I will be very disappointed. We need to get our starters some rest for the late season push.
nailed it.

I have some solid analysis in that thread.
