Cameron Artis-Payne already has 11 runs of 20-plus yards this season. Tre Mason had nine in 14 games last year.

I wouldn't have thought that. Interesting.

Not as surprising as you would think considering their styles. Tre hit the hole and slipped through traffic. CAP looks for holes in a similar fashion to zone blocking RBs and will bounce outside if he doesn't fine one. Being on the perimeter significantly increases the chance of a big run for RB vs DBs.

Also, Tre running up the gut had significant ramifications for AU's offense as it opened up the perimeter run game more compared to CAPs style. If you notice, Nick Marshall runs inside significantly more than he did last year.

Finally, Tre Mason was the king of break through to 15 yards, make a juke that seems successful and just barely get tripped up by the safety.

Tre Mason also had 4 runs of 40-plus yards. Cam has none.

The past 2 weeks CAP has showed out. He was good early in the season for sure but to me he has run angry the past 2 weeks something I didn't see from him before. I am interested to see if he can make an NFL roster

He probably read this board and saw all the AU fans (including me) talking about him sucking

He can make a roster and he'll be a 5-7 round draft pick but he'll never be a starter.

Not true. Just one example, I was at the LSU game where he had a 49 yard TD run in 2010.

Cam had a 71 yd run against Arkansas State, 54 yd run against SCAR, 40 yard run against Arkansas, and a 49 yard run against LSU.

Don't know where he got that stat from

Wish Mason had one less. We scored too soon in the Nattie.

I'll never forget the Clemson chicken kickoff game. I swear it was him and a safety like 20 different times about 12 yards down field and he didn't shake him once.

Tree Mason was the most awesome contradiction. Body of a speed back, running success up the middle of a North South bull and weakness of open field 1 on 1 safety tackling

Forgot to add his ability to house kick-offs too.

Somehow he could take a kick-off the full field, yet could never get past that last damn defender.

I will say that Payne has played or looked much better the last 5 games or so (outside of MSU but that may be on the OL) than he did at the beginning of the season.
