The longer the talking heads have to talk, the more it feels like the build up to the OSU UF title game to me.

Was told by an FSU fan that they have not allowed a rushing TD all season.

Mizzou had only given up 11 rushing TDs all yr before SECCG - we heard how athletic that defense was and how they were naturally prepared for our O because they played against their own crazy athletic O every day at practice. Then they gave up 7 to us in that 1 game.

FSU has given up 12 YTD. We will start early attacking....Gus made it clear this week that he learned his lesson against Oregon in 2010 - about how the time off requires a special jump start at the beginning of the game.

Again, if we don't get anyone hurt, AND if Nick holds on to the ball when scrambling,I believe we will use FSU's speed against them and mis-direction their arse all night long.

We have depth on the D line that will keep their OL occupied and wear them down. Speed on the edges from Ford and Daniel and Lawson. Winston will start to push and we will make him pay.

And yes, it not only sounds like OSU - UF from a few years back, but also rings familiar to Bama - Miami, and how Miami was stacked w enough NFL quality players to make it a no contest.

I cannot fricking wait. fricking FSU grad who is a neighbor down the street was politely saying the other day how this FSU team may be the best ever, and how we should be proud for just getting there no matter what happens. I smiled and said "yeah."

They have looked good. Against crap. It's destiny, boys. Would feel bad for them if I didn't hate their fricking guts so much. Any posters here from my time at AU in the late 80's feels the same. Watching us beat them in person the last time we played them was my all time favorite feeling as an AU fan - literally until this year. But watch here again to get pumped. For the youth posters, this is Casey Weldon getting fricked VERY much like JFF this year on that game's last play.

frick FSU

Someone is feeling slighted and pissed off today.

I think there are plenty of reasons to believe Auburn can win this game. Whether that will happen or not, who the hell knows? After a month long layoff it's impossible for us to know how each team will respond to the pressure and adjusted game plans. It's also difficult to get a feel for FSU because of how insanely bad their schedule really was.

Thoughts on Auburn
I think that Auburn is a team of destiny right now. I think they have literally found ways to win games sometimes with skill, sometimes with luck. You have to be a little bit lucky to be a successful team. I think the development of the team -- the offensive line, the quarterback Nick Marshall over the course of the season has been phenomenal. Then the coaches use of those guys in the offense to the degree that they have established and developed the running game to where you have to stop the run. The run can account for big plays, chunk plays, explosion plays and they do just enough in the passing game to be very effective. I don't know even with the preparation time that Florida State can simulate what they are going to see in the National Championship game with the speed, the tempo, the athleticism and then the combination of plays that all come off a similar concept. If Auburn gets on a roll it uses its tempo to get some consecutive first-downs they can tire out the Florida State defense. Florida State's interior defense is not a mobile group. Auburn has to find a way to take Jameis Winston out of his comfort zone whether it is being more physical at the point of attack, re-routing the receivers or finding some sort of subtle pressures.

Thoughts on Florida State
Initially when I looked at this game I said this was the National Championship that Florida State is going to win. They are better on offense, they are better on defense because they are more multifaceted. As I watched these two teams on film, I think it's going to be a high-scoring game. I think that Florida State' defense is going to be pushed harder that they have been pushed because Auburn's running game is the best in that there is in college football. You can't stop them, they have tremendous confidence, their offense line is playing very well, Tre Mason is a force to be reckoned with inside (the tackles) and Nick Marshall has quarterback skills and DB speed. The worrisome thing to me for Auburn is their pass coverage and secondary. Dee ford and the front seven is going to have find a way to disrupt pass routes, re-route receivers and put pressure on Jameis Winston. So far he has been impervious to pressure. He has been able to find receivers whether you zone blitz him, man blitz him and he's got such a multitude of guys to throw to: Nick O'Leary the tight end, Kenny Shaw, Rashaad Green has tremendous speed and Kelvin Benjamin is the safety valve he's a big guy and will make a play. If Florida State can handle the tempo and doesn't allow Auburn to get on a roll, they will not get tired and their offense can help them by moving the ball.

Keys to the matchup
I see this coming down to Auburn's running game verses Florida State's defense, which I think is going to be in Auburn's favor. Then I think it's about Florida State's passing game verses Auburn's secondary, which I put in Florida State's favor. It's whoever makes the fewest mistakes and controls the line of scrimmage. I'm don't know if it's a sure thing for Florida State. I think this game is in more question than most think. To me the game is going to be much closer.

Prediction for National Championship Game
My early prediction was that Florida State would win and should be favored. As I look at it now I believe it to be much closer game and a lot of points will be scored.

By far the best breakdown they've gotten from a coach so far. In my obviously worthless opinion, I think he's spot on.
