Fear for his health, but love him.

Me too... the defense is significantly improved over this time last year. I know all the numbers won't necessarily show it, but we're better. We need more depth and more consistency... that will come with time.

Agreed.

Our defense is light years ahead of where we were last year. frick the yards we gave up to Bama. They only scored 2 TDs and one of those was bullshite at the end.

Our D kept us in the game. They've played with energy all year and only really looked bad in the LSU game.

fricking people on Twitter talking about how embarrassing he is and how he cost us on the 15 yarder he got. No. What cost us (and I hate to be this person) were the non calls on the blatant holding all night.

Muschamp went to bat for our guys and wanted a fair game. Glad we have someone like him who will stand up for our players

I love him too. In a manly brocrush kind of way.

I hope he stays for years.

I certainly don't believe in that tin-foil 'REC bought the refs' bull and will be the last one to blame the refs.

That said, I think Ritter and co are incredibly incompetent. The really screwed us to hand Alabama a two possession lead, and Muschamp was rightfully pissed. I mean, hell, even Verne and Gary were talking about how BS the non-call holding on Bama turning into a 30 yard penalty on AU was.

They beat us.

We needed all the intangible stuff to break our way. Dropped a pick 6. Under threw a TD to Louis. Missed sacks.

They made the plays at key moments. They also let their most talented offensive player have the ball. We buried JR on bench in second half.

He talked about having to change the culture when coming here & I think he has. Defense seems to have really upped their game here in final 2 months & guys like Devaroe Lawrence & Stephen Roberts have emerged as big time guys. Next season I think we will see a solid defense from the get go

Had no problem with him blowing up on refs. Part of reason Lawson was ineffective most of night was he was getting held & they weren't throwing the flags. Also they gave Saban a warning after he ran out & actually put his hands on the official but immediately through flag on Muschamp. Just one of those games

I don't believe in REC bought refs either. More in line with what you said about being incompetent and missing calls.

I love him and have absolutely zero issues with the 15 yarder. We accept the occasional "hustle play" penalty...even welcome it because it means the guy is playing with fire. Have no issue with a coach doing the same. Ill take it any day before i watch an unemotional lump of clay field a shite show.

Dude......

286 yards rushing allowed.

465 total yards allowed.

0 takeaways.

The defense definitely improved as the year went along, but I'm going to wait another year before I get excited about defense.

bullshite. I was told on the rant that every Auburn fan was embarrassed and thought he should be fired.
I loved the intensity last night, I's said it a few times. He is bringing in some very good recruits and I think he will have a formidable defense if he sticks around long enough.

Yep and out of those 450+ yards only two TD's. That's saying something.

I love the guy. He has made our defense better without a doubt. He put guys in place to make plays yesterday and they didn't make them.

Sorry but it came a long way. Our offense screwed our D over by putting them back on the field time and again. Our defense gave us a chance to win games. Our offense said frick you.

I totally agree. I have been burned by defensive expectations for the better part of a decade. Let's wait until the end of next season before we anoint anyone.

Who are we anointing by saying the defense played better? All I am focusing on is this year and what I saw. The OP was saying they love Muschamp for his competitiveness and bringing some fire to the team. All of which is true.

Where did the anointing happen?

Defense is playing better than last year.

That is clear.

Happy with seeing improvement and hopeful it continues. What are the odds Lawson comes back?

Again, I reserve judgement, but I like the direction the defense started heading once we got Lawson back. Let's see how recruiting goes and see what we look like next season. I may "love" Muschamp by then too.

Yeah, I bet when you take time of possession into account it makes sense. Defense played excellent last night
