Well, this is THE race to swing for the fences, so it's gonna be a wild one. Just hope they both avoid the Big One. JJ and Kenseth have enough of a cushion to bounce back from a poor outing, but the rest are probably toast if they post a DNF at Dega.

There might be some initial backlash from some of our posters (our board is pretty private access) but don't let that deter you. Feel free to post often. You're not going to say anything that will get you kicked off

You joke, but we both know when the natives wake up and see on our frontpage, bitching will commence.

I'm terrible at flaming anyways

I read a lot of different team boards but try only to post in Aggie specific threads or if we happen to be playing that tean in something.

Mostly I just like talking to fans of other schools. Whole reason I joined tRant in the first place. Hard to do on the main rant nowadays sans flaming, but I'll never track that shite in here to y'all's board.

Y'all have a great (and in many ways, kindred) school culture at Auburn and I hope to experience it in person one day. Jordan-Hare was on my bucket list long before TAMU joined the SEC. I MUST see that eagle fly for myself before I die

You'll find that a majority of the AU posters are really reasonable when they post on the AUBoard.

But yeah, feel free to post here whenever. You always seem to have valuable input and it would help integrate us (with other fanbases...not a racial thing. Thirdlawson is our resident black guy )

Let us know if you come to the game next year

Thanks

And I had no idea Thirdlawson was black good poster.

Will do! Auburn is definitely on the short list of where I want to visit depending on where I'm stationed next year.

I'd rather pound my balls with a mallet than watch fricking racing. It's not bad live, but on TV not so much......

The way they have been televising the races lately, I almost rather listen to it on the radio. But going to a live race is something I think everyone should do at least once. Get infield passes and just take in the experience.

I actually have never been to a live Cup race

Love watching on tv. Love when I catch catch it on the radio, too.

Once you finally see a live race, watching it on TV gets kind of depressing.

I can't listen to the radio broadcasts in I'm driving. I get incredible rode rage

I've been wanting to take my 9 year old, but would the Dega infield be something to avoid with him?

He's seen plenty of drinking at Auburn tailgates, but I get the feeling the crowd would be a little different...

I've only been to one racing event, and that was Earnhardt's last qualifying at Daytona. We were visiting my uncle.

I did go to high school 15 miles from Talladega, so we spent a lot of time roaming the campgrounds getting free beer in high school, but I never made it to the gate. Good times.

Never been to a nascar race. We used to go to Bham Int'l Raceway in high school. Buddy raced motor cross and we went to those too. Basically, hold-my-beer-and-watch-this redneck events.

The people at every NASCAR tailgate I have been to have been some of the nicest I've ever met. In the Charlotte infield in turn 2, they have an area called "shooter's row" It's just a bunch of guys that have been tailgating there forever...each tent has a different shot. As you walk down the "row", guys are handing you shots left and right.

Only problem with Talladega's infield is the size. It's huge, and if y'all plan to walk around alot, it might be a little rough on your guy. But I think the people would be fine. Sure there is some cussing and several shirtless (a female every now and then), but in my experience, they are nice people as long as you respect their tailgating area (don't walk thru a tailgate as a shortcut). As long as you explain to him that it's going to be a little "different" from yall's normal tailgating experience, I think he'd be fine. Might not want to wear anything Auburn tho....
