This is what I assumed and hope from reports

Kozan almost for sure isn't back and are you penciling in Devante Danzey will start at G then? He is our new Chad Slade

I also don't think the transition from Marshall to JJ will be as easy as y'all make it out to be. JJ will most likely have some struggles.

People don't realize just how amazing of a QB Nick Marshall was. If we had brought him in as a FR and molded him, he could be one of the all time great CFB QBs.

That said, our running game should take a huge step forward just on OL strength improvement almost across the board. Add in a competent HBack and we can easily handle JJ struggles

So it will be like every week last year. New week, new starting 5

tends to happen when you lose a FRAA at a starting spot at the opening of fall practice, then have a starting RT go down in the 4th game of the year.

nice exaggeration tho

He was a GT QB with a strong arm. He wasn't amazing. He made good reads MOST of the time. I think you don't realize how different Gus makes his offense based on QB. It will be quite different

First: Is anyone else stoked for JJ to take the reigns? I was one of the people who wanted him to start last year, even knowing how explosive Nick was.

frick no. Not even close. Last year Nick Nick was a proven commodity who had already shown he was his best when it mattered most. IMO, Nick Marshall is the second best/most effective qb to ever wear an AU jersey. I have no clue how JJ will respond when it matters on a big stage and I will take a proven awesome commodity all day every day.

I don't see any drop off at RB. Bit of a drop off at WR - we do not have another Coates on the roster to play opposite Duke. Oline I expect will end up being similar, but a bit better.

Overall, I expect similar total production from the offense. However, unlike last year, there are more question marks, primarily qb. If I had to guess, I think JJ will be really good but we will have to wait and see. I don't think he will be more effective than Nick was the last two years though. That is a damn tall task.

I think our offense will look 2009 most but will a run threat at QB. JJ does not run with power (at least not yet)or is fast as Cam was. He does throw the ball as good or better. We got a small taste of JJ against Ark. QB we should be very good.

RB should not be a problem either. I believe Barber can get the job done. He runs behind his pads as good as most very good backs. If he is the worst we can be then were going to be very good.Robinson should come in and just take over the RB position. Robinson should be 1 and done he that good but if he slacks and don't work for it someone else will tote the rock.Roc is flash (a little like caddy of the carnell and ronnie show). He will be the second leading rusher on our team. Mr Johnson will be are Grant/Omac RB.

WR is DUKE. How many balls did Duke catch in the 1 half od Ark? We have some good WR and they will catch the ball better this year because of JJ. Loius will have a break out year.

Now the OL. I starting to worry a little here. The last couple years we have had great depth here.Even going into this season am thinking how great our OL will be next year. THEN Kozan might not make it back (1 starter down. Miller go pro now 2 starter down. We lose the best center in the nation and a 3 year starter in Slade (I know he is easy to be replaced but the coaches didnot think so). Our LT struggled. I wished we could have got that Ivey kid. With that being said we still should be good. LT coleman will be better, LG Danzey got some pt, C Golson Stared as a fr. at ole miss, RG Young is a 2 year starter and RT Smith could be a beast. Maybe Kozan makes it back. What if Diamond (major talented) is healthy.Dampeer could add to the depth.

HB should be as good as last year or better.Pettway and Cox could be on the field as TE and HB in running plays.Could Barber play hear if Robinson lights it up at RB.

People who wanted JJ over the "explosive" Nick Marshall would never believe you.

I believe the O will be considerably different and likely very good with JJ.

If you think that Marshall wasn't amazing though, you are nuts. Considering just how porous our OL was this past year, he was an unbelievable QB

Nah... but he caught a bomb in the bowl game... he has the top end speed to blow the top off of any defense... and Gus loves to stretch teams vertically.

I think Darius Slayton will have a great chance to step into one of the outside spots... dudes got more polish to his game than I thought. IMO, out WR core is going to be very good, especially when you consider what we all though mid season when Duke was thought to be gone.

If he could catch he likely in contention for All American honors.

He has all the physical tools, is a match up nightmares and how we use him in the run game will make him a hot name for "dynamic placymaking" skills.

I just hope we aren't as predictable.

Worried about OL - hope JJ can manage collapsing pockets

Also looking forward to seeing what Slayton can do out there. I like this kid a lot and hoping he can contribute early on with Duke drawing the best coverage.
