1993, I was 10. #2 Notre Dame vs. #1 FSU in South Bend. After that I was hooked on college football. Never really took to Notre Dame despite the intensity and excitement of that win.

18 as a freshman against La Tech to start the 2009 season. I had been to a handful of Bama games in high school since my sister was in school there, but I grew up as a Tennessee fan. My uncle worked in the athletic department in Knoxville and I got to be on the field several times, including the 1998 national championship season. It's a small wonder I'm an Auburn alum/fan now, to be honest

So 1980, my freshman year at Auburn.

1981 Auburn LSU game @ 5 years old. Sat with my dad in the south end zone. I remember crawling under the bleacher and going to sleep. As we were leaving the field we were walking beside the old white dome thing heading back to our place at CDV my dad was a few steps in front of me. For some reason I yelled at the top of my lungs "HAY DAD I HAVE TO PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!" and all of these people walking beside us turned and started laughing. The yelling about having to pee and sleeping under the bleachers are the only things I remembered.

Probably went earlier, but the first one I really remember was the 1990 FSU game in Auburn. They had beat us the year before in Tallahassee, and I remember tomahawk chopping them out of the stadium when we won. Good times!

On a side note, I'm taking my 9-year old son to his first game (other than A-day) next weekend.

ETA: Forgot to say I was 8!

shite Lanier. I thought I was old at 46. You still rock at 93!

And this is a quality thread by the way.

No wonder your Japan experience really sucked in Kawasaki. It's a shithole / yakuza controlled / concrete industrial Cleveland. fricking Japan's Cleveland. If you met anyone that said "Yeah, I went to Cleveland and America sucks", what the frick would you say? Even worse - "yeah, I went to Cleveland like 20 plus times (for fricking work) so yeah, I hate the US cause it sucks."

Did the samurai treat well back in the day;-).

Get your butt on a GD plane, get your arse over here and please, let me show you a much, much better Japan than that you remember. Bring the Wifey, fam., friends, or not. There are beaches and resorts, and hot springs and sake and lakes / rivers and salt water fishing 360 degrees from us, an hour or less in any direction. Mountains, skiing, food, super awesome people, rafting, biking, an hour west of Tokyo in Izu. ETC.

touchy feely tits

I don't know who wrote this but even I learned stuff (like this guy needs a healthier balance in his life). Not for you Lanier - just passing on cultural info. WD!

Went with my buddy who was going to Auburn as well and sat in the North end zone.

Good times.

My first AU game was AU vs. MSU in Jackson, MS in 1982 when I was 7 years old.

My dad went to MSU, so I was actually there pulling for MSU at the time.

I don't remember the score, but MSU got smoked. AU had a really good running back that year and MSU just couldn't seem to stop him.
