I've said this before on here, but I honestly think he's the most talented back we've had in a long time. I think he's better than Ben Tate. His power, agility, and vision are apparent every time he carries the ball, and is noticeable to even casual observers. He breaks tackles and runs over people unlike anyone we've had in recent years and his cutback ability is fluid and natural, a rarity for someone of his size. He's a supremely gifted player, and I don't understand how he's as underrated as he is.

I agree he is very good, and better than Tate. If he can be as good as Tre Mason (and he can be) then we will be very happy.

It looks like Mason had a better OL, but hopefully this years OL can get the job done.

If Auburn has a true duel threat qb the running backs will do better. Last year the defense could focus on the backs because the QBs were not a threat to run.

Heck, the QBs were barely a threat to pass.

I'm more worried about our tackles than our QB play.

Why?

Because I generally want my qbs and rbs to have a couple seconds before someone is hitting them in the backfield.

Leff blocked like a wet noodle when playing RT last year, sorry for noticing.

1) Leff played a total of 23 snaps at RT last year.

2) He played against the best dl in college football when he did so... when the team was already losing... going against Tim Williams the majority of the time who was 3rd in the SEC in sacks.

3) He actually did decent for the most part. He looked better than the MSU RT in the playoffs. It's not like the rest of the OL was outstanding in the 2nd half either.

4) If JJ could actually hit WRs, and when he did they actually caught it, Auburn probably wins that game with RL at RT.

Wouldn't have mattered. We saw with SW that even when the WRs were hit right in the hands they still couldn't catch the ball.

He didn't do decent when I watched him get beat several times. To be fair to Leff I only noticed him when he didn't do good.

And the fact you mentioned our whole OL didn't look good should be a concern for any of us.

For our team's sake I hope I am wrong. By the way I was letting bowl know my thoughts on Leff have nothing to do with his star rating. Maybe he turns into a stud at tackle?

And how many sacks did he give up in those 23 snaps? I know at least 2; Leff got best so bad on those two that JJ went into the fetal position to protect the ball.

Jovon can be as good as any back we've had at Auburn in recent history. That includes Ben Tate, Dyer, Mason, and CAP and has the talent to be right up there with Caddy/Ronnie. The make or break factor for Jovon is his "want to". Caddy had "want to" for days and he ran with a ferocity that I absolutely adored. If Jovon realizes exactly what is on the line and focuses on that this offseason to get into immaculate shape and takes that to the field, he can be a 1st team ALL SEC caliber RB. No question.

IMO he can be as important to our offense as Tre Mason his senior year. I have no explanation as to why he got as few of carries as he did. Kerryon on is good but I don't think he can tote the rock like Jovon.

More talent than PB CAP and Tre but will be running behind a worse Oline.
