Ive never been to oxford. Not planning to this week, but am curious, for tailgating spots are these reserved or do you just show up early and camp?

It opens and people sprint to claim a spot like they found out someone's cheating on their cousin-wife

Very overrated...too crowded for me, although the "Walk of Champions" is good for a laugh

I would look for the tailgate with the dope and gas mask.

Agreed. I went last time we played there. Very overrated.

It's basically just regular tailgating except everybody is crammed into one area. I didn't see why they think it's a big deal.

I do like Oxford though.

They sound a horn the night before, and everyone sprints to a spot to with chairs and trash cans to mark their spot. Very crowded, but a fun tailgate spot. I had friends that went to school there and made a trip every year. I'm a fan of Oxford, reminds me a lot of Auburn.

I just decided to go this weekend last minute actually so if anybody has any tickets they want to sell let me know

Go, drink a few beers, silently wonder if the Ole Miss girls are overrated or not, accidentally bump into an old man who then mutters a racial slur at you even if you are white, drink a few more beers, watch Auburn beat Ole Miss, eat at City Grocery, go back home.

My trip to Ole Miss (granted way back in 2004) was lame outside of Auburn winning.

The Grove is like any other tailgating spot: if you know people, it's fun! Good food, friends, and drinks. If not, it's just a bunch of tailgates that you aren't invited to.

After the game, some Ole Miss students told us that it was tradition to go get fried chicken at this spot. I can't remember the name. It was chicken on a stick. That was it. Like gas station food. There were people everywhere, and they were acting like it was the prized treasure for Oxford postgame food.

Then the hotel we had booked didn't have any available rooms, so they refunded our money and we drove all the way back to fricking Auburn and nearly died due to being way too exhausted to drive.

Going to away games is pretty overrated in my experience. I just prefer the friendly confines of JHS, I guess.

Been once and agree with this assessment, but it did look nice being able to tailgate someplace with trees and shade versus a parking lot.

I only made four road trips that I remember in the 80's-90's. If I had it to do over again, I would try my best to make to make it to at least one game away at every school if at all possible (and still wish to!).

I went to MSU, UGA, Georgia Tech and a Sugar Bowl in the late 80's / early 90's. Good blur. I sold programs around JHS from age 13 or so so I saw lots of home games between 83-94. JHS and tailgating in Auburn is great, but at age 46, I wish I had made more road games. Notably LSU, Fla., Bama, and Ole.... whats her face? OLE MISS!

I am really curious as to whether or not she is proud of that moment.
