Some coaches prioritize knowledge of the defense over ability along with seniority

Other coaches believe in putting the athletes on the field and letting them learn the defense as they go if they aren't there yet.

Clearly Chizik and Co believed that it is was more important to have someone on the field who knew where to be (just wasn't able to be there) than someone who would be in the wrong spot due to lack of knowing where to be

It never ceases to amaze me the level to which some fans will go. Was he great? No, but who else did we have? Cass? Frost? Both will be just getting to the point they aren't liabilities as is
Holland played because he was older and knew the playbook, even though Cass and Frost are much more athletic and, while they will miss assignments more, they actually have the ability to make good plays. Holland's best plays are average plays for most starting LBs

Two thoughts come to mind while reading that.
1) He reads message boards.
2) He mad.

So am I correct in assuming that you guys believe we had better LB's ready to go but our coaches decided to sabotage the program just so JH could play?

It never ceases to amaze me the level to which some fans will go. Was he great? No, but who else did we have? Cass? Frost? Both will be just getting to the point they aren't liabilities as is. Fact remains Chiz felt like he could get by with 215lb LB's. Don't blame the kid, blame those that brought him in thinking he was good enough that he didn't require coaching!

All kidding aside, after resisting clicking on thread all day, I finally gave in and it was totally worth it. I went full Anderson Cooper. I needed a good laugh, thx guys

no, but it is pretty obvious that Chizik let his bias effect his decision. Coupled with the fact that Holland had no competition for playing time and you get what we saw the last two seasons.

I will miss my Jake Holland drinking game if he does not start this season, nothing like being black-out drunk midway through the 2nd quarter.

What level is that exactly?

Busting his balls on a message board because he sucks...oh the humanity.

Don't blame the kid

Why, he's the one missing tackles

I can't blame both? He can't tackle and no on taught him...they both suck. Is that better?

Only tolerable way to watch last season. It's not a bug, it's a feature!
