Dan Wolken thinks so...

Once you get past the Urban/Stoops pipe dream, there’s only one coach FSU could hire who has
A) Won at the highest level
B) Recruited at the highest level
C) Fits the school
D) Might be gettable
That coach is Gus Malzahn. Every other candidate is a massive gamble

I don’t know if they can afford him or even want to pay him what he’ll want.

Yep. And we will hire a shite show and crumble while FSU gets turned into a 10 win team each year.

To be fair, they would probably be in contention for ACC every year.

But does Florida State have that much $$.

I do not really think any of the names listed are realistic.

Edit

Just read the thread about coaching hire for 2020 and Jesus some folks need to take a breath.

People trying to compare FSU and Taggert to AU and Gus are fricking delusional. In no way are the situations comparable.

It is easier to win at FSU due to the schedule. Also they have always recruited well. However, I think it could be a win win win for everyone.

I am certain Gus would love that change with next year looming. It will be his least talented team (in the most important areas) in his tenure.

OL and DL.

Plus, he has to go to georgia and bammer. He would probably love a buyout.

Maybe, but I would rather let the season play out.

Look, stop using logic. These guys are ready for Gus to leave so Auburn can get a coach in here that can get them back to winning Championships.

This is starting to remind me of the Tubbs debacle.

Well, he did assist FSU in their BCS Championship

Holds the record for the biggest lead that was lost in a Championship game. After the clock hit 0:00, we just stood frozen in the stands in disbelief!

I'm sure Auburn would be willing to negotiate down the buyout if FSU is serious but I don't think they will be willing to pay 7 million a year for him. If he loses again to UGA and Bama they might not be interested at all.

In my 30+ years of being a fan, that is the #1 loss that struck to the core! Pasadena erupted when we had the go-ahead with Tre.

I never realized how loud FSU Chant really is !

I am typically a very reserve fan. Because of my 40 years of Auburn football, I never think its over till its over. But when Tre scored, I told my wife that we had just won a second Championship in 4 years. It was just the way it was suppose to happen. I felt like it was over.

Then the missed tackle and I wanted to puke
