quote:

You don't have to explain anything. It was my words. it was an analogy, not a comparison. I may have to explain that for you.

You may have to

quote:

a·nal·o·gy ?'nal?je/ noun
a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification. "an analogy between the workings of nature and those of human societies"

a correspondence or partial similarity. "the syndrome is called deep dysgraphia because of its analogy to deep dyslexia"

a thing that is comparable to something else in significant respects. "works of art were seen as an analogy for works of nature"

Thanks for making my point even more clear. As your wiki quote shows, the point of an analogy is to relate things in an effort to explain them. Often done with hyperbole in order to limit confusion and increase clarification. Not an outright comparison, bruh. Good day sir.

Basically you just told me you compared them.

I'll take it slow. What was the relation between the lightning strike and a potential loss to Ga southern?

I already gave you the answer but apparently you missed it.

Bookmarking for when the same people giving you grief about being worried are melting in the first quarter when Ga Southern happens to score first.

I didn't compare them. I didn't say that losing to gsu is the same odds as being struck by lighting. What I said was that I'm not worried about losing to GSU despite the fact that it could happen. I analogized that I could get struck by lighting, but I'm not worried about it. I'm not saying they are just as likely. Will it make you feel better if I change it to I could spill mustard on my shirt at lunch, but I'm not worried about it? Either works for my point - not yours. Get it?

I wouldn't say 'worried,' but having absolutely no memory whatsoever of any events between August 2012 and January of 2013 just gives me a constant feeling of uneasiness....

To get this thread back to talking about the game as opposed to correlation vs causation, I don't think that southern has anywhere near the horses to make this game competitive. It will probably be a lower scoring affair than almost all would hope for due to the insane amount of clock eating southern will do. I see this as a 38-6 type game.

Another point is that no matter the outcome of any game my life won't be affected at all.

Are we whirlybirding? 'Cause if we are whirlybirding then we win by 17. If no whirlybirding then we win by 29.

To answer the OP question: not worried about the outcome, but I am worried about our level of play.

I think our O will be very vanilla. I wish we were opening with a team that threw the ball more. I do think a lot of our guys will see snaps during this game. If it's less than a three TD game, I will be disappointed.

I am not worried, after last seasons terrible ending, I believe this team will come out ready to play on offense and defense. A motivated Auburn team should have no problem with Georgia Southern after the first quarter or so.

I'm just going to say that I'm very disappointed in this thread. One of you is embarrassing this great university.

I'm not worried.

But do I think it's possible we make this game way more suspenseful than it needs to be? Of course. We do that with some regularity.

I'd like to thank everyone for not using the term "trap game" for the opener.

Not worried one bit really. Ewe have a month to prep for the triple option, not 3 days mid-week. If Steele and co can get it together in a month, he would be given his walking papers. We could have Borgers develop a triple option scout team for fall camp to practice against.

Also just because a team did a few years ago that does not mean squat. LAMO beat Saban, are you worried about them? They almost beat us a few years ago, are you worried about them?

We really need to be careful. This might very well be a trap game.

Might as well pencil me in on the melting part, at least.

I will melt the first time we do not score on a possession.

Why? Whirly bird is money on first down and usually worked on 3rd down even though we all knew it was coming.
