Easy Jonesy,

The point still stands, you put some good pieces around Thorne and you will see quite a difference in overall performance. Other than Fairweather, not one single starter at receiver was on the team last year, and new starters on the OL......and Thorne is still the starter. Tells me the coaches saw where the problem was and it wasnt his play.

He is no Juju but we will see more of a Freeze offense now that more pieces are in place and it should be fun.

The guy was second to the bottom of the league in turning the ball over. He threw a couple of the the dumbest passes I've seen any QB make in an Auburn uniform. He was the leader of a team that was BLOWN OUT by New Mexico State and a very average Maryland.

He has A LOT to improve and freshman wide receivers aren't going to overcome it completely.

I just hope Freeze is really as involved offensively this year as he has thus far claimed.

He is getting penalized for being a part of that NMSBbeatdown? What about that game did he do wrong?

15-19, 148 yards and 1 TD
He led the team in rushing yards against New Mexico State but I see nobody crying about the RBs performance against the inferiors. Does Throne need to do a sextape for you to buy in?

You'd think after watching a QB they all said was terrible go number 12 overall, they'd reevaluate their overall behavior towards our current Quarterback lol Bo was NEVER as bad as Peyton was for us last year, but he did have Seth, Anthony, and a better group of players around him.

Boy Pink and Alan Head are big on Jacobe Ward. Pink said he would not be surprised he is a multi year starter.

This is gonna be one heck of an OL class.

Also seemed optimistic about the DL. Said the coaches are penciling in Jakaleb for inside LB versus edge. Interesting feeling about Gibson and Zion Grady, and of course they brought up Scroggins the third. .

This is why I have hope for Thorne this season. He has some premium talent to throw the ball to now. If he can get the ball within their wingspan his completion percentage has nowhere to go but up.

If Mac Jones can look great surrounded by stars I bet a paycheck Throne can lead in a meager bridge QB role.

23 TDs and the offense gets shown.
Book it.

I think as a fanbase we were WAY too harsh on Bo. I said that at the time and still to this day don’t know why he was hated like he was.

But I think the fanbase is mostly right about Thorne. You obviously have fans on both extremes but overall I think the opinion is below average to average and could be consistently average with better pieces around him. That to me is a fair rating of him.

With Hugh fully engaged with the offense, an upgrade in WR talent, and the new helmet communication, we will see a dramatic improvement on offense. All teams will benefit from helmet communication, but I think Auburn will benefit more than most. I hope I am right.

Some will claim they knew Payton would be good, but I would expect even Holden to look decent in this new environment.

Hugh made it seem like it wasn't as much of a big deal for teams teams that move a fast pace in a recent interview. What do you guys think? Is he just downplaying the communication thing on purpose?

I mean, if you are moving fast and all that, there is just less time to communicate things. So, from that angle, yea i'd say it is less of a big deal. It will save some time probably on that hard count/alignment check instead of everyone having to look to the sideline. Otherwise, if you are running and trying to get the plays off quick, there just isn't going to be as much use for that reason.

I still think it will be a big deal and it will help that stuff get communicated faster, don't get me wrong, but from that angle I can see his point, if that is the point he is making.

I believe the rule is, the mike is turned on from when the play is blown dead til you break the huddle. So if it was hurry up it wouldnt be turned on.

If you huddled the coach would give you the play and maybe say, "watch it they are disguising a Tampa Two coverage as man coverage". The huddle breaks and thats it.

Its not on when he comes to the line of scrimmage where the OC in the booth can tell the QB the defense and the play while he is standing waiting for the snap looking over the defense.

I could be wrong, I often am....but not about Thorne, he will do just fine this season

1. He would just about fight teammates on the sideline

2. Pouted and always put his problems on others. He actually blamed a loss on the fans.

3. Road game Bo

Have you evere played sports? Great leadership stories and carrying a whole team on their back is for the fairytales. Each person has a job to do. When the OL isnt blocking constantly there is only so much stress the other positions can handle. I remember in HS watching our QB melt down in the game even thouh he was the best player on the field. There were guys hitting him at the word go and he started to unravel. He was desperately calling for OL to do their job. That guy went on to play for UNA in baseball and then became a dentist. People get rattled. Ashford got rattled. Him and Tank got into it. shite happens. What you didnt see from Bo was he check himself out after cracking while on the field. Stidham did that and he played like it in his last year.

I agree. Bo also played at Auburn in a stressful time when Thanks to Gus, several of our rivals had MUCH More talent. He could have gone to a more structured situation out of highschool, but he chose to be an Auburn man like his dad. That got him criticism, stress, failure, some success like the LSU game and Bama(2019)but mostly disappoinment. Had he not gotten hurt he would have entered the draft and probably been a 4-5 rounder according to most, but he took a risk and it payed off. I'm proud that he turned it around guys. I'm choosing to remember the Oregon game he won, the good plays he made, and the success he DID have. Maybe if we appreciated people more we wouldn't be in this situation we're having to dig ourselves out of? It's just a thought

I’ll give you that to an extent. As a leader, you’re expected to hold your composure. Teammates will start to turn on you and not want to play if you’re playing

What do you have for 2 & 3? He lost all my respect when he basically blamed the loss on the fans.

I’m happy for him and will support his NFL career, but he was more than likely a 4th rounder with his Auburn showings.

Bo stays at Auburn he doesn't get drafted. If he were my son, even as an Auburn alum, I would have advised him to consider other options at that point in time. There wasn't a legitimate OL prospect on the roster.

That being said I appreciate him giving Auburn the chance, respect why he left, enjoyed what he did at Oregon, and reflect on just how big a dumpster fire our program was becoming in real time right before our very eyes.

Between the Florida State game ending and Hugh Freeze getting hired did anything really go well or get done right?

headset communications?

It slapped me into considering there's a chance with Thorne.
