Just a guess on the WR room currently… or should I say depth chart to start the season

Z - Coleman , Brown, Simmons
Y - Smith, Thompson, Burton
Slot - Lewis, Brown, Cain
Y - Rivaldo, Walker, Riley
TE - Deal, Frazier, Riley

I could see Lewis and Smith swapping spots. Depending on which is easier to pick up for Smith quickly. Lewis practiced a lot outside in the spring.

It will be interesting with Perry. I doubt he has a huge impact his first year. If that happens, I could see it being tough holding on to him through next years transfer portal.

That's life. If Perry can't wait 1 year before being a HUGE contributor in this offense then he was never a realist anyway. Every evaluation of him says he's a 5* talent in need of development in terms of the receiver position. Spend this year studying the play book working on routes and becoming a beast. Hell, there's NO way he doesn't catch passes THIS year. He's unspeakablely talented. If we pass for 2800 which was Bo Wallace's number then he'll have 350-400 of that with 3-5 TDs man. That's excellent for a true freshman. If he still leaves then Oh well, go get Caleb Cunningham and keep it moving.

Just looked up the top 5 receivers from 2023. All 5* guys. Not one of them has more than 400 yards receiving as True freshman. That's how rare it is. AJ Green, Julio, and those boys are generational dudes. Even AJ Brown and Dk Metcalf did Very little as true freshman. Perry has got to understand

I'd be surprised if Cam doesn't surpass the 400 yard mark, it'd mean our offense is anemic at best.

edit* didn't realize you were talking about Perry.

Id be shocked if he didn't get 650-800. He's that good. I think He, Ryan Williams, and the Smith kid from Ohio St were some of the best receivers I saw the last decade. The polish they've shown from Early reports is rare. Cam Coleman will have bad games yes, but only injuries or something boneheaded will stop him in my opinion.

Meant to add this to my post about Juju earlier, but I can't even begin to explain how good Kenyatta is at his job and how important he has been in that recruitment.

It was a fantastic hire that helped us this portal window for sure. As good as Freeze has been at highschool recruiting, he kinda got his tail whipped in December when the portal opened. He openly remarked about it not being his thing, and went out and addressed the weakness. Fantastic adjustment by him.
