per AUC LINK

-OL poised to be better than 2010 & 2013 units
-Shon has taken his game up a notch
-Boom has said privately the 2014 D had effort issues
-they had effort, just not Boom effort which appears to be on a different level than most D coaches
-having no TE that has taken a college snap is a problem
-Laye made progress but he's not at a championship level
-Jalen Harris unlikelt to be early season answer
-Gus has said privately Sean White is the most accurate QB he ever coached
-W/ Elijah gone it's important DaVonte Lambert recover fully from injury & Byron come in ready to play at a high level
-No clear answer came from Spring at the SAM backer/Nickel spot
-CLT is anxously waiting for Holland to come in & fill that spot
-reports saying Reese being undrafted b/c he would be a bad teammate & locker room problem was untrue
-little proven depth behind them but Tray & Rudy may be the best Safety tandem in the SEC
-Not sure yet if Tre Williams will start but he will get all the PT he can handle
-Carl looks beast mode. Aka bigger, stronger, & faster than ever
-would be a shock if he doesn't have a huge season
-Duke really is impressing staff & teammates w/ his leadership & off field attitude as much as his on field play

Last years D was a result of poor leadership. Hopefully that changes this year.

Are these statements made privately by coaches or the opinion of the site writers?

Same here. It seems like I've been thinking the defense will get better every year only to see the same shitshow.

The ones that say Gus said privately or Boom said privately are from them supposedly. The rest are from insiders in or close to the program. Phillip doesn't post his opinion on football stuff. He just passes on what he's been told. Whether they turn out to be right or wrong time will tell.

Usually they're just made up.

Saying that Sean White is the most accurate QB Gus has coached and that Muschamp says the defense had effort issues last year isn't going out on much of a limb.

They get a lot from lowly staffers too in passing. Problem with that is the staffers are telling them the "truth" but problem is their opinion is worthless

Scouts take as gospel the things they hear in the Bama locker room, I guess.

This is a good start to why Reese wasn't drafted

The attitude/personality stuff is crap. Guys like Incognito were swarmed by teams after the whole Dolphins fiasco. Center is more of a leadership position than gaurd, but you guys get the idea.

If you're 290lbs, 6'3", and you have small hands and short arms at Center, you are up against a lot. There are also questions about scheme fits. All this said, I think he's got a great shot at sticking in the NFL as a solid starter or backup. But that's a lot of barriers to being drafted.

Wonder if Reese can do long snapping? You can play in the NFL forever if you are good at that. Its kind of an invisible position, especially for a Rimington Winner, but 10 years in the league is still getting PAID.

New England drafted a fricking long snapper. $200K per year to goof off and snap a football for 6 months.

I think he sticks at Center. He will just have to prove himself in order to stick. It's not the worst position to be in. The Steelers like him.
