Fire gus - is a great knee jerk. If we fire him who do we get?
If you let him decide who falls on the sword what has been achieved?
Fire his boss and put the fear of god in him and the staff and you see changes.
To answer your question about my job and what I do. You implied in your post that some people that have no clue about real life management situations were calling for higher up heads to roll. If I performed as poorly as Gus and Jacobs there would be firings without question.

Potential coaches will understand that you don't win a NC and go 3-9 two seasons later (with top 5 recruiting classes). Both Gus and Gene have done this. Just because a coach wins a NC does not give him a free pass to SUCK the rest of the years. They are paid too much fricking money for that.
So, yeah, the Gus Bus is on fire and something needs to happen at the end of this season.

If you want reality, here it is - Malzahn rode 2013 behind the top 5 recruiting classes Chizik brought in and two of the greatest plays in college football history. Then we managed to blow a 21-3 lead against FSU. Last season we still had Nick Marshall, so we weren't terrible but we had extremely poor performances in the last several games, including a 34-7 loss against Georgia that will probably go down as one of the most painful games I've ever seen. This season we're just awful and there's no excuse for it. The reality is that in the last 7 FBS games we've played, we're 1-6. If we manage to turn things around, I'd say give him another year. But to be completely honest, this team is getting worse and I think we'll be lucky to win one conference game.
