Not necessarily buying this. We'll see how long Malzahn sticks with Marshall if he keeps missing easy short-intermediate passes.
I don't see why we'd pull the redshirt on JJ for a game we could've won handily with Wallace if there wasn't a good chance JJ could get some starts later on if Marshall's passing can't get any better.

It is not as cut and dry as you are letting on, especially after the coaches watch the film and see JJ checking down most of his throws, as well as maintaining composure after the INT.

Nick has maintained composure well also.
Seriously, it was against a HS team. I am willing to bet with a few weeks of practice, I could have thrown some TDs and hit close to 50% against that team considering there was no pressure and receivers were running around wide open.
And yeah, I'm serious I was a pretty good intramural qb at AU that got close to the championship a couple of years. It was seriously like flag football pitch and catch for JJ out there today. I still maintain you can't take a damn thing from it except it gave him some practice against another team. Today was meaningless because it bears absolutely no resemblance to playing against an Ole Miss, LSU, AtM, UGA, or any other team that is not overmatched all over the field and can't even bother the qb just standing there playing pitch and catch.
ETA: I'm not taking anything away from JJ either. He looked fine. I just won't personally put any stock in anything we did against maybe the worst team in college football except it was fun for our guys which is great.

If you heard that from where I think you heard it from, it's not exactly reliable info.
