So would you take Emory Blake for your NFL team over Marcus Davis?
Gotta love loaded questions

I, like most all of the world, would take neither. Hence "undrafted"

This proves you have no idea how the NFL works. One had to be physically able to play the game at the next level. Louis is 6'2 220lb WR with great speed, he can physically play. The NFL thinks they can develop players of the physical tools are present. Some like Green Bay can, others like Cleveland cannot.

Marcus Davis is nowhere near the athlete Ricardo Louis is. He was drafted on upside. Marcus Davis has hardly any upside and has a very low ceiling.

He isn't near as good as Darvin Adams, Terrell Zachery and Quan Bray were...yet they went undrafted.

You guys are really REALLY bad at realizing the difference between being a good college player and a good pro prospect.
I think that's you, baw.

Tony Stevens and Marcus Davis will both be undrafted. But, if one HAD to be drafted, it would be Tony Stevens. Marcus Davis isn't a sought after prospect.

The Captain is going a little overboard but I think we all see the general lack of pop on offense, especially with the upperclassmen. We should really try and get the younger receivers more involved. They've shown some flashes.

You realize the best WR on the planet right now is 5'10" 180?

But the only reason Louis got drafted and Davis won't is size
This'll be a fun one to revisit in the offseason

Dude I am as big of Marcus Davis homer as anybody. Love the kid but comparing him with Antonio Brown is just dumb. Brown had over 3,000 yards in college with 22 TDs. So far Marcus Davis has 590 yds & 3 TDs. Bit of a difference....

I hope one day you can come back & point at this thread & say we are all idiots for not being on the Marcus Davis NFL hype train because that means our offense exploded & he showed out but barring something like that it's highly unlikely he is drafted.

Alex is currently rated as the 16-20 guard taken in most NFL draft ratings. Historically that puts him in a position where getting drafted is possible but not likely.

Are you still lobbying for Franklin to start at QB?

Sorry, but you need to earn back the right to be taken seriously about any sort of player evaluation.

He also was a 6th RD selection too despite better athleticism & production/stats than Marcus Davis

Quan Bray went undrafted despite better stats + better athleticism. Unless MD makes a major change, he isn't getting drafted. May not even be invited to the NFL combine

Back to the topic of the OP, from the linked article:
quote:

The analyst said he’d like to see backup John Franklin III replace Sean White as the Tigers’ starter.

“I know there’s a lot of inherent risk with (Franklin) throwing the football, but I don’t know in Gus’ offense, you need to be that good of a thrower. I think you just have to be able to distribute the ball fast, be quick.”

I think these statements destroy this guy's credibility far worse than his comments on Gustav's recruiting.

Marcus Davis is bad lol. Did won't sniff the draft. At his size you have to have impressive production in college and definetly has not been impressive.

He has been pretty bad this year. Bad routes and dropped balls.

I do not have the feels for him anymore.

We have not used him a lot but when we have, he has been ineffective.

Time to start to use Kyle Davis and NCM more

This thread has taken an odd turn

OP had nothing to do with any of this. Dude (Matt Barrie) was saying give Gus more time, bench Sean, and let JF3 throw.... and Al'obama was not the best team in the land.

I agree with the guy. We have big offensive problems, we all know that, but it seems as though Gus has become contrite about his stubbornness. Obviously, he hasn't lost the team and he's built a pretty nasty defense. If he can get the offensive woes turned around this team has a high ceiling and could very well be a playoff contender next year. We have a lot of talent and need to let things play out over the next couple of seasons. I also think we win 9 games this year.

Marcus Davis is an average WR that fields punts for us...he does a good job of both. Hardly ineffective.

Does a good job falling a yard short of the first down and dropping passes. He hasn't fumbled a punt yet though and for that, I thank him.
