So, when Muschamp said we were done with that 10 yard cushion on defense, was that like a dad joke or something? Did I miss the funny?

Yep, and Lawson and Matthews are expected to play. Whatever comes out of the coaches mouth just plan on the opposite.

We were missing:
Lawson
Matthews
Holsey
Countess

At that point we're just in "stop the bleeding" mode. I don't have too much of a problem with it; if Lawson's not in we don't get enough pass rush half the time for me to be confident with us playing tight man

As long as the interior OL of the opposing team is allowed to grab Adams and hold tight with no punishment, our pass rush without Lawson is going to be non-existent.

You cannot play press man all game every game, especially with young DBs. Nothing wrong with mixing the coverages, when you don't want long passes over your head.

They play zone in the NFL. QBs look for man in that league, it is easy to beat. Go up and make the tackle.

I'm not saying we need to man up press coverage all game. However, why are the majority of our db's around 10 yards off the ball? Why is that the primary? Why is the off coverage not 5-7 yards off the ball? Obviously the extra cushion isn't doing anything. At least that way they are in better position to help out on outside runs and bubble screens.

When we play zone, we don't go up and make the tackle. It's just easy yards. At least with man the qb still has to make a throw.

I don't know, but I've been watching it for three years now under Gus and it's pissing me off.

Every game teams abuse us with it. Every. Single. Game.
