Nothing public. Hopefully it was just rumors. One would think that if it was a season-ending injury, someone credible would have said something

It is not a "rumor" in the sense that I have heard from a few people who'd know that he is injured. There just is uncertainy regarding just how long he will be out from what I am told.

Most recently, a reliable person told me that expectation for the injury was around 6 month recovery/end of October beg Nov. Impression I got was a medical redshirt is a worst case scenario and they hope he is back for the big end of season games

just my opinion, but if he could somehow be 100% by the final three or four games, then I wouldn't redshirt him... it's not like a talent like Lawson is going to be on campus for five years anyway... get what you can out of him this season, if it's possible.

Rumor I was referring to was he's out for the season. You're right, we all know he was injured. Beyond that, I haven't heard anything...but I also haven't asked

^^this^^

It would be worth it to have him for the Georgia/Bama games alone...then maybe some post season action with a title on the line as well. Could be just the spark our D needed.

Niño, that is a very realistic possibility from what in told. Depends on progress. My info is reliable second hand from a coach. Essentially, he is injured looking at 5-6 months expected (wasn't able to discern from what date). Always could heal faster. It was asked if he would redshirt and basically it was a "shrug" and if he was available by UGA and Bama he plays. Expectation is that he goes NFL before he ever uses a 5th year so no point in RS

I have a feeling you won't hear anything until practice starts.

No timetable given by DC. Dr Andrews likes the recovery.

Anything else is just rumor

When I was given bits of info on what happened to him, the impression I got was

Normal people would be out minimum 6 months. Carl Lawson though is not normal and is in the mold of Adrian Peterson in terms of recovery. We probably won't redshirt him because he will recover at a ridiculous rate.

I still don't expect to see him until the South Carolina Game at the earliest. Oct 25-IB games are more important than pushing a few weeks too early to be 75%
