Coach Malzahn said he hopes to have him back before the end of the season...

lol this makes the second season in a row losing Lawson has royally fricked the defense.

Our defense shouldn't be in the position that losing one player screws us yet here we are

Oh, believe me, I agree. But our defensive pass rush is going to go from great to nonexistant and our secondary is going to look foolish from here on out because of it.

Yep you've hit the nail on the head. Good luck to Carlton Davis and Jeremiah Dinson's confidence because they're going to get picked on

Do we get to see him back next year or does he head to the NFL?

I don't understand why Holland doesn't get more playing time. He looked really good rushing the QB in the first game. If the coaches are worried about him picking up the defense, he still can come in on 3rd and long and say "go get him kid!"

Gus really is a son of a bitch. He was so timid about finally giving us the truth on Carl he had to pull the trigger on the QB switch just to have something to sneak the news in with.

I agree on Holland. He's look decent when he gets a chance. Very athletic.

Can you think of any example where a guy has played as little as Carl made the leap to the NFL?

He has a torn ACL + hip issues sidelining him for 2 years with no film. He would be lucky to be a 3-4th RD pick

If he comes back and has a dominant season next year, he is a 1-2nd RD pick with guaranteed money.

My point; 3-4 round pick is better than coming back next year, getting hurt, and not getting drafted at all.

He's having such a similar trajectory to Dee Ford. Of course Dee wasn't as heralded, but still. Hopefully he can put together a season like Dee did in 13 next year.
