As far as athleticism goes, I don't remember an Auburn receiver being as good as Sammie Coates and Ricardo Louis. They were top notch athletes and both were drafted fairly high based purely on their potential. Both were incredibly raw after leaving Auburn in terms of route running and both had bad hands, yet they were drafted high.

What? Duke is the best WR to play for AU in a decade. He just was stupid as hell.

We talking athleticism/potential or production? Darvin Adams is easily the best WR to play for Auburn in terms of production (since 2000 I meant to put in).

I'll throw Anthony Mix in there as far as athletic ability goes. 6'4 235 and still run a 4.4. Kid was so unbelievably under utilized.

As a pure receiver, I would say Duke Williams is the best I remember. He just had that "it" factor out wide.

Darvin Adams is a guy that had a very high floor and a not so high ceiling. He absolutely made the most of his ability.

Ricardo Louis, Sammie Coates and Anthony Mix (as GoCrazyAuburn mentioned) were all freaks of nature. Each one could've been better than they were, but I don't think they even came close to reaching their full potential.

I would also throw Mario Fannin in there as well. A big guy, with nothing but muscle, and 4.3 speed to boot.

Darvin Adams was every bit as a sure thing as Duke at the college level. On top of that, he was significantly more consistent and better hands.

Crazy acrobatic catches are great, but Darvin's "high floor" made him an elite WR for the college level

Darvin was one of the if not the best route runner we've had in a long time. He had his share of "wow" catches too.

If I had to choose between the two, it would be Duke Williams every day of the week and twice on Sunday as a football player and receiver. Darvin Adams definitely had the better attitude and was an awesome team player, but I view him as a poor man's Duke Williams in the end...and I loved Darvin Adams. He outproduced Julio Jones in 2009.

Meh, he was more consistently on the field, but that's about it. I think we forget how good Duke Williams was when he was on the field in 2014. I agree Darvin Adams had great hands, but so did Duke Williams (only dropped two catchable passes in 2014).

I wouldn't call him elite, but I would call him damned good. He made a ton of plays for Auburn and he was fun to watch. Dude went off in the SEC Championship Game and made a future 1st rounder (Stephon Gilmore) look silly.

AND Darvin Adams knocked the frick out of Mark Barron in the 2009 Iron Bowl!

That crew of Anthony mix, Devin aromashodu, Ben obomanu, and Courtney Taylor was about as good as it has ever been at Auburn.

Taylor was Auburn's alll time receiver at one point IIRC.

No love for Terry Beasley?

2004 was definitely Auburn's most talented team, IMO.

From top to bottom.

I thought we were talking about bad WRs for Auburn, but my favorites (who I saw play) are:

Ronnie Daniels,Sammie, Duke, DAdams, Courtney Taylor, Anthony Mix, Tyrone Goodson,Tim Carter, Frank Sanders and DeAndre Green.

Beasley I'm sure was the beez kneez to Sullivan but thats way before my time.

Friends from the 04 team always tell me '03 was the more talented team, 04 just were better as a team.

Ronnie Daniels, Sammie, DAdams, Courtney Taylor, and Frank Sanders are my favorite with Sanders being the best out of the group imo

If you could build the perfect WR, Frank Sanders would be your model. DD Green was unreal and very similar in size/skill to Duke. To bad they were both such knuckleheads.

Don't care. He's on the wall behind my bar with "the immaculate deflection." His reaction in the end zone was also pretty great.

Trashing a player who gave us one of the best memories in Auburn football is not a good look.
