Lot of bickering on this board lately so I’ll start a thread to unify everybody.

has the USC kid been approved to play? If so Newman might not play at all at UGA.

I hate UGA with a passion but they will still have the top defense in the SEC and probably the country. I wasn't to found of Newman anyway so a raw kid starting might be better for them.

I don't think JT Daniels has been cleared medically completely yet but he's been close for a few weeks now. Plus I don't think the opting out is done and we need to make sure we stay healthy and worry about our own back yard.
Maybe that's why Newman opted out because Daniels is about to be cleared completely.

So let’s play this game - Newman (who has been deemed a top 3 QB by PFF and preseason All - SEC) has been beat out by a yet to be medically cleared QB (so who’s basically been playing 7on 7 at best) who was also beat out by a 3 star freshman QB at USC? Sounds like maybe some folks were just plain wrong on the Newman assessment. If he is truly opting out for Covid reasons only, the UGAs QB room is looking pretty shoddy to say the least. I can take some pleasure in all this
