Hawks came back from 20 down in Houston in 8 minutes a couple weeks ago, so it happens.

Exactly. It's not a tell all sign that Bruce cannot coach. It's not even close. 20 point leads are relinquished all the time in basketball. Sometime the team wins anyway, sometimes they don't. Basketball is truly a game of making runs. Sometime the team that has the last one wins.

People should be more concerned about not having any players that care to get to the FT line. Spotting up for a jumper every time won't do it. Going to the FT line is a great way to stop runs. And getting to the FT line is a great way to make a comeback as well. Kudos to Ole Piss.

FTA per FGA?

Free throw attempt per field goal attempt? Never knew that stat was out.. Stil don think we attack enough. We don't seem to have players that seek contact either.

Ya, basically the rate of FTs per shot taken

KenPom keeps track of it for teams

None of us should blame PEarl totally for how this team performs game after game. Without PEarl we DON'T have 16 wins, and we DON'T get these 4 and 5 star players.

The problems are a myriad of reasons.
1. We are so young ALL at one time. Look at our starters and bench. First and second year players.
2. These guards came to AU with very poor defensive skills IMO. Purifoy, Heron and Harper who he relies on so much, do not know how to guard in man to man. No hands up, no intensity to move their feet, fouls guys late in games when we have the LEAD.
3. No leadership on the floor. I think Johnson could do it as a senior, but remember he is only been here as long as the freshmen.
4. poor PG play with Harper
5. would rather shoot 3's than dribble drive. We had, what? 8 FTs yesterday?

He has a tendency to mismanage his roster.

That's debatable. We've gotten beat by teams with far less roster stars than us.

Not true, Harper was known as one of the best on ball defenders out there.

Goes back to the coach.

True but some of the bonehead turnovers we make are coming from Purifoy and Dunans Lang too when he's in there. Those guys have been here for 2+ years. Just total lackadaisical passing and effort. Once again goes back to the coach

Not really. I agree with most of your points, but the fact of the matter is Pearl is bringing in more talent than we've ever had and has us in a better spot than we've been in quite some time

The silver lining is that we would have never had the opportunity to blow a 23 point lead with Barbee.

Agree. We already have more wins this year than any year total since 08-09.
