I would think the agreement would be null and void.

Pearl knows he is creating Auburn's basketball history. He knows there will be a statue in front of the arena where his name is on the court. He has five or six years left in him. Is it worth throwing all of that away to go to a place that Auburn has passed at the moment?

I’ve been thinking about that as well- I mean- would Kentucky go after a 63 year old coach? Wouldn’t that be a settle for them in the big blue blood picture? No shade towards Bruce- I think he’s amazing and absolutely hate the thought of him leaving. I just don’t 100% buy that UK would go after a guy that, while he has gas in the tank, is in the back 40 of his career.

Since this is a message board I’ll ask the question…IF that were to happen- are we stuck with his son? If not that then who? Where? What?

I’m just thinking of what this place is like during a coaching search…

History shows that sons that follow their dads are AWFUL.

I've said this before, I'll say it again... I'd take my chances with Buckyball.

I have never visited or even driven through Arkansas… ever. I went over the weekend to Little Rock for the eclipse and this happens. Tremendous buzz amongst the hog fans over there.

Will Wade or Buckyball would be my choices.

Wade, ok. Bucky, no way!

(Actually, the only thing I really know about McMillan is that he looks like he’s 12 years old.)

Hurley seams unlikely after 2peating. And not known to chase money. Billy would be an idiot to come back to NIL.

Pearl could see it as his last hooray to win the big one. Much easier to get the Jimmies and Joes at UK and they’ll probably be ready to give a bag after Cal embarrassed them. UK the basketball Mecca wouldn’t be a bad place for Pearl to end his career.

Seems highly unlikely that UK would want Pearl. (And I hope he wouldn’t be interested in going.)

Looks like Drew or Donovan will be the guy.

I think the opposite… NIL makes it all about the money… just like the pros. It’s way more of a business proposition than it was 12 yrs ago when he left Florida.

According to the wisdom of the “internet” it seems like it’s coming down to these two. Hate it for us if Bruce bolts.

I would still expect them to go after Oats and Donovan before they get to Bruce, simply because going with Bruce you’re basically guaranteeing you’re going to be back on the hunt for a coach in a few years.

I agree- that said- in the search world of pride and pressure do they go for a reputable hire in the now and figure the long term out later? Thats my concern.

Oh if they miss on enough they absolutely would go hard after Bruce and just ask him to get them heading in the right direction before he leaves.
