What's the deal.on this guy? Is he not good enough to beat out lambert

No kidding. I figured a #1overall would be playing all the time right away.

He looks slow and unsure of himself when he is in the game. Doesn't have a great motor either. I hope it is just adjustment to college and not a sign of who he is.

Looked like they moved him to the inside of the line in the 2nd half.
He's a HUGE player. Literally in size. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a Nkemdiche kind of transition to DT.

Yep I think he weighs almost 280 I would guess would be close to 300 next year with training and nutrition program

Jeffery Holland will end up being better than Cowart. He has more aggression and a higher motor.

Another AU 5-star bust. Dude won't be enrolled next season.

Cowart is playing ~50 pounds heavier than last year + against superior competition
I wouldn't be surprised to see it take till Jr/Sr year for him to really break out

Labeling a guy a bust 4 games into his freshman year. Never change Auburn fans. Never change

Then put his arse in there. Outside of Monty getting double teamed the DL is below average

It's amazing that college football fans can't understand that the transition to a college d-line is extremely hard. 90% of heavily recruited D-lineman don't' start showing dominance until year 3.

He's pouting over his terrible decision not to follow Ivey and Jefferson to Florida

I think it is just that people want some kind of a passrush. Zero sacks is absolutely pathetic.

It's amazing you think this is still the 1980s. You probably say "relax, it's only December" when talking about recruiting too.
True freshman are making plays all over the field at every position across the country.

DL? Name them please.
Trent Thompson hasn't scratched yet either.
I guess he is a bust...

Arden Key was balling night 1, Myles Garrett was probably the best defender in the league last year, Derek Barnett, Daylon Mack. Payne and Tuttle are getting on the field at UA and UT.
I'm not calling Cowart a bust by any means but it has to be somewhat alarming that he can barely get on the field for a team in desperate need of a pass rusher.

Um, What?
I'm seeing quite a few freshman at Auburn contribute. You know what makes freshman on those teams you listed above stand out? They have studs all around them. Auburn doesn't have that right now. It starts with recruiting. Auburn has got to focus more on the defensive side of the ball. Byron Cowart is the type of recruit we need, but just because he isn't registering a sack a game doesn't mean he's "another Auburn 5 star bust".
